Why is it that the word brains can be used plural?: BrainS.
And this especially happens when it is put across as a meal!
No-one says I'm having a Brain for dinner. But i'm pretty sure someone has said I'm having brains (plural)
so what gives?

I'd guess that when the brain is in one whole piece, it's just brain, but once you cut it and dice it all up, it's brains. Kinda like eggs.

is that why an intestine can be described as intestineS?
Or does the refer to the large and small intestine together. thus being plural?

infact the word BrainS is often used way before any slicing and dicing happens... think about it

infact EggS would refer to a number of eggs wether scrabled or not. on the other hand, one scrabled egg would simply be refered to as a scrambled egg, not scrabled eggS
also, a plural can be used about entire brains... meaning more than one whole brain
it can also refer to a level of intelegence
i'm not sure about the fiscal year implications or the market saturation but I think that Brains is quite a popular dish all around the world.

Yeah, your definitely right about the intestines. Maybe when their saying 'brains' they're imagining the individual bits? lol I don't know.

that's great! now you're really getting into the spirit of it!
I supose the only way of knowing is to find some actual brains and find out for yourself.
Do you have any?

So, if my calcuations are correct, i'm working this out in my head btw. The the pickled pig brains are plural twice over. more than one pig brain was used for the making of that single jar, which could have been called brainS (plural) even if only one pig brain was used!
