No matter what is a very strong statement! Granted that I will tend to agree most of the time; there are some instances where you can be held at no fault.
I agree that you hold control over your own actions. And how we respond to things is a direct result of how we were trained by the society we exist in. For the average person in his native land there are acceptable responses to every situation. This doesn’t mean that we have to respond that way though. We can choose another path; but, we have to be aware of the moment and that there is another option.
To blame others for your action is to concede defeat. Especially if a response was their intent. But IF someone hacks off your arm and you instinctively grab the bloody stump and gasp… that is just self preservation playing out. We are all hard wired a particular way for a reason. And to undo that coding could be detrimental to our own survival. Now, in the service we do change the initial reaction of soldiers. But not so that they carelessly through away their lives; but so that they can overcome fear by following orders. All war depends on this. That last statement does not mean that I condone violence. But rather stress the importance of tempering the individuals conditioning.
I feel that if we are in the moment and aware of what is, and are centered in the Force, then there will be no need to blame anyone for our actions or responses. Or expect others to do the same.

I want to try one of your dark thoughts out for a second.
I mean it's fine and dandy to profess the code of the jedi but when it comes down to it we still are humans and still conceive dark thoughts. I think the best way to train your mind of ridding yourself of negatives is throwing them out there. I think your idea, Zenchi, of dark thoughts and presenting them to the physical world is a unique form of therapy. So here i go.
Dark thought: I despise idiots. How can you be so apparently mentally handicapped but still want to express your moronic opinions to the world, just to ultimately embarrass yourself?

no, no that wasn't aimed towards anyone in the order. It was just some thought I conceived in the past about a school-mate.

As we were just discussing in another thread...
Who are we to brand other people's opinions moronic? Unless they can be disproved by fact/evidence?

You are perfectly correct.
I was just using his "dark thoughts" as a means to present my negative thoughts outward, in order to try and rid myself of negative thinking.
Sorry, maybe I misunderstood your idea, Zen. I thought you presented your darker thinking in that structure. for example Dark thought: (than inserting one of your darker thoughts).
I thought this was a rather unique idea. It might help train myself of trying to think more positively since I think so negatively.

I think that Zenchi's dark thoughts are of a slightly different nature. Rather than just saying things that annoy him, which is something that we could all do, he is writing thought-provoking statements designed to test our thinking. Or at least, that's the way I see them
