I’m a Councillor For You

After reading some responses to the recent survey, I want to be clear about my plans for 2018, and how I will fill my roles here in the Temple.

• I am a Knight first. I will continue to focus on training my Apprentices and improving myself with further study as well. This includes revisiting the IP and continuing Seminary studies.
• Next, I am a Security Officer. I have heard the complaints and suggestions concerning moderation of the forums and member behavior. I will work hand in hand with the Council, JLSpinner, and others to be more clear about the rules and expectations for behavior. I will also be more transparent about my actions and explain why I take the actions I do. I will encourage the other moderators to do the same.
• Finally, I am a newly appointed Councillor, but I haven’t forgotten that I was elected to be an Advisor and a voice of the Knights in Council. That is still my intention, and I will use my vote for that purpose as well. I will share how I vote on public issues, and I will do my best to explain why. At times I will rely on my own judgment, but my desire is to hear your voices and take your opinions into account.

If I am to perform up to this community’s standards and my own, I will need all of your help. I need to hear your voice. I need to know your concerns so that I can try to address them. I need your patience. Most of all, I need your faith in the idea that together as Jedi we can do better, and we will. I am optimistic about the future. As we let go of 2017, let’s learn what we can from it and let the rest go. 2018 is a new beginning. Happy New Year, Jedi, and May the Force Be With Us.

One more note... Some of you already know that I have a nagging health issue (just a little cancer ) that keeps me away from the Temple more than I would like, but know that I still read PMs and browse the forums as often as I can. If you don't see me active for a day, I haven't disappeared. I likely just have "chemo brain" and I'm not posting much to avoid sounding too cranky. Keep the questions, ideas, security issues and conversations coming! I'll respond as soon as I am able.
