I thought it might be an interesting discussion... What affirmations do you tell yourself and why?

*
Defintion of affirmation:
(1. the action or process of affirming something.
"he nodded in affirmation"

2. emotional support or encouragement.
"the lack of one or both parents' affirmation leaves some children emotionally crippled") *

I wrote these affirmations below because I'd like to remind myself of these positive things and hopefully prevent or lessen the intensity of when I feel wretched about myself or life. I won't always agree with these affirmations that I wrote, but in a calm state of mind, they sound helpful and encouraging to me. :)

My affirmations:

I am passionate about living a good life. I am passionate about making the most of the most important things: Magic with my partner, Family, Learning, Friends, Bettering the world.
I am motivated to get things done.
I am motivated to organise and take control of what I can in my life.
I am part of something bigger than myself- I live in connection.
I love people and people love me.
I am adaptable and strong.
I am funny and playful.
I am friendly and warm.
I like to fix things.
I search to be appropriate in what I do and how I react.
I look backwards to make a better path forwards.
I improve and grow and change.
I am ready for the times that I am not ready and willing to accept that I may not accept ‘What is’.
I am life. I will die. Life is valuable with death.
I make the most of now while I can.
I breathe in and out.
I am holy.
I am the ‘I’ that experiences itself.
I search for peace and understanding and recognise I am not peaceful or understanding in some contexts.
I forgive myself, pick myself up and keep moving forward.

In honesty the classic jedi code is my affirmation. Mostly the first line "there is no emotion, there is peace." I have some emotional/mental issues (for which I am seeking professional help) and that statement really helps me.

I am not my past, I am not my future, I am the me of now.
I will not fight but I will stand.
I am nothing, but I am something.

What has to come ? Will my heart grow numb ?
How will I save the world ? By using my mind like a gun
Seems a better weapon, 'cause everybody got heat
I know I carry mine, since the last time I got beat

Peace is a lie! There is only Passion

My biggest problem has always been getting started, moving forward, breaking past my comfort zone. So that first line of the Sith code is a reminder that time keeps ticking and death will eventually come to my door... And so it is a call to action, to seize the day and follow my bliss instead of clinging to the comfortable, to the known.

The pessimist complains about the wind;
The optimist expects it to change;
The realist adjusts the sails.

First time I heard this quote I got shivers up my spine. It has been one of my affirmations ever since. I look back at myself and what I've done and see what I've become.

Obi-Wan: Look at what I have risen above.

When I used to be in my breaking points, I found a quote that might, to some individuals sound very "rough", but it's a depressed person's way of keep going, I guess.

"Until whichever comes first; A bullet or my salvation.
I will keep clinging to the last glimpse of that terrible illusion, hope..."

Despite being in that point where I saw no hope and had no wish to stay, I then thought:

"I'm still here."
"I can stay here for a longer while, I guess.."

And then I'd proceed to meditate as I always had done and just let my focus go and stay in the "now".

Every morning I drag myself to the bathroom, stare myself in the eye and remind myself

"They'll never find the bodies"

Oh fine I'll play -

Mostly I go with "Ain't dead yet"

"I can do it" ... on the bad days.

On the good days, Marcus Aurelius "Whatever the world may say or do, my job is to remain an emerald and keep my colour true."

It won't let me have a blank signature ...
