Where will you be in 2100? was created by Whyte Horse
I'll be 126 years old. I've been told by leading scientists that if I can make it to 2030, I can expect to have a significantly longer life expectancy due to advancements in anti-ageing research. Current projections are topping 142 years. So, assuming this is correct(pretty safe assumption), then it brings up questions like where you will be in 2100...
If you take this sort of thing seriously, which I do, you need to look at climate change projections. So I did. We are soooo screwed. For example, have a look at NASA's projection for the number of days above 100degF

Days above 100°

Anyhow, it gives a good idea where there will be droughts and desertification. Seattle looks quite nice, CA is toast as are most of the flyover states. The implications for the food supply are pretty scary. Plus what if all those people decide to move? Can Seattle take on 10million people from LA? It's already begun where I live in WA. People are leaving due to the drought. Entire farms are uprooting and moving to where water is abundant.

Well if I live that long, which I'm gonna guess probs not (I'm on the skeptical side of the whole anti aging tech) I'd better move out of Texas or I'll be bacon. And bakin'. Both things.

Make those areas huge solar array farms!! Unless of course the increased temperatures cause a greater amount of cloud coverage, in which case perhaps it'll just be more humid then baking... and so maybe we'll have strong equatorial weather patterns like super monsoons, and be nomadic in accordance with them (avoiding getting flooded)!
Perhaps living underwater might be more stable :silly:
Easier then Space I guess!!
In fact something like a Tie Fighter would make a good design for a submersible, the wingy things on the side could be inflatable bladders to set buoyancy, and the cockpit already uses quite a strong design with its heavy framing!! Stick batteries in the left and right supports with engines all isolated from the cockpit for safety, with the bouyancy tanks and breathing equipment in rear of the cabin behind a bulkhead for manual operation if the automated controls fail, and access airlocks in the roof and floor. Lets kickstart it

Dead, or hopefully close to dying.
I have no desire to live forever, nor do I wish to live so long as to be decrepit and dependent on others to take care of me.
