It appears that a large-scale international conflict may soon occur. What can we do?

I agree that a full nuclear war is probably unlikely. But I think it's important to note the horrors of a "proxy war" as well. Looking at the events of the previous Cold War, there were tons of issues. Vietnam, for example, started as a defense of French monetary interests as well as an attempt to prevent the spread of Communism and the influence of Russia over the region. While a full scale world war probably won't happen, I think taking Syria and Turkey into account (with our propositions to arm certain groups in the area which may have a problem with the current Turkish government) we might see a similar situation occur. If history is to be any indicator of what may happen in the future, I think that some escalation of military conflict in general is likely. Obviously I'm sure nobody is dumb enough to start a nuclear war, but these comparatively small military actions still tend to have a massive death toll. I don't think that these smaller conflicts should be belittled.

There can be no true international peace if people are willing to threaten war over something like this election. With other threats of riots and revolution (as I have seen many videos where both Democrats and Republicans have threatened riots and revolution) these issues are in my opinion becoming less unlikely. I don't mean to fear monger, but I don't think that acting as if these aren't real possibilities will have much of a positive effect.

Thedude... My man , some where at any time there will be wars and rumors of wars. Our connection to the squabbles is often shook with uncertainty and rightfully so, that's what the Amygdala is for, yes we have the right as human beings to panic. Duh, but don't stay in that state of mind, it's dangerously stagnative and easily exploited or controlled . Balance is always needed especially here. Take some time to review a few things for your self. As a old soldier my feet ache when I watch the news. So does my back.
My encouragement to all Jedi is to be ready where your at . Be vigilant in your choices and all you "attach" your self to, especially ... Where u get your daily feeds. Be ready, to take care of your own. That's all that's ever asked.an even here your only really responsible for just you. What can we do? Be ... Ready.. Now, not some day when ... Now, then and only then can u say today is new. Then and only then can we live. Be ready, be vigilant but be certain . It's the uncertintanty that is easiest to control.

http://www.dn.se/nyheter/sverige/russia-issues-nato-warning-to-sweden/

as for russia/putins dislike for clinton - i dont care, its not their election and americans should not be swayed by fear of some other country

the ny times has done a few articles on her war hawkery, which is a very legitimate concern for voters

here is one of the articles for those interested

As was / has been the case with many aging despots, Putin is slowly losing it. He's been having delusions of restoring Russia's former grandeur for a while now. Seeing that the EU can't seem to pull its act together in terms of common defense (or anything else for that matter) makes us here an easy target. I don't believe there'll be an all-out war but I'm afraid that Russia might give it a try and attack former soviet countries - their claim being that they were better off during soviet rule. I'd be seriously worried if I lived in Estonia, Latvia etc.

There's hope, however - Russia is a very different country now than it was 60 years ago. People like their iPhones and Teslas. Following Putin into a destructive conflict would threaten that new-found lifestyle. So I'm not entirely convinced the Russian population and / or military would follow expansion plans.

While these newer conflicts don't always fall in line with this, I always reference this well thought out and sourced video when fears of large scale conflicts pop up. Perhaps it may be of some help to others!

In my humble opinion war is coming. It has been brewing since 9/11.

WW1 gave us the League of Nations which was the foundation of the UN. WW2 gave us the UN and the world bank. WW3 will end in world government. For nations to willingly submit to world government WW3 will need to be suitably bloody.

What can you do to help prevent it. Simple. Don't take up arms against other humans. Wars can not be fought without soldiers.

This kind of stuff comes up way too frequently for me to take it seriously be or pay it much attention.

In 1999, we had the y2k crisis that turned out to be a complete non issue.

In 2008, people thought the country was going to enter into a second revolutionary period and go into a state of civil war.

In 2012, we thought a giant meteor was going to hit us because the myans stopped making a calendar that was already a couple centuries ahead of present date.

So really, if the world actually does end, so what. I'm tired of the conspiracy theorists and paranoid psychotics ruining everyone's daily lives with this meaningless BS.

Just to address this: it wasn't a non-issue, nothing happened because the problem was fixed before it occurred. What I vaguely remember my father telling me (as he sorted it out for the company he worked for) was database address were stored with years as "99" or "999" at the end, but in the year 2000 this becomes "00" or "000" which is in the past. The solution was to add in another number after 9 which was the symbol '.
