Are we truly alone in this universe?

Maybe this is a very basic question but it at the same time is a very deep questions and it's not a question also that mankind hasn't asked itself anytime it's looked up into you that big black sky at night. That question is are we alone in the universe? Is there life out there? Or are we the only ones? Scientists and theorists and even religions since the dawn of creation or the known universe was formed have had that input. Myself personally cannot be for sure that I believe there's life out there but if there was I think it would not surprise me considering in nature we learn things about our own planet that we did not know even existed. I often wondered myself does it really matter? As a Jedi should I even worry about such things? Or should I wait and let the force reveal it? One of our tenants is that we live here and now and not for the future but we should be mindful of the future but not afraid to embrace it. But I was kind of wondering what everyone else's thoughts are do you believe there's life outside this planet in the house stretches of the universe?

As a teenager I used to try to open myself in dreams to communicate with aliens.... and since I lived under the approach path for an international airport I think a few night cargo aircraft arrivals might have fed into those dreams now and then, alas no contact was ever made (that I remember!!!!!!!). It's an amazing thing to consider that this planet is the ONLY known place for complex life (or any life). That should make 'nature' extremely precious...

....but given the number of planetary systems out yonder it's a fair bet there is other life IMO. I tell myself Jediism is the spirituality for astronauts, for me at least, and part of that would be interacting with the unfamiliar in the most peaceful way possible along with dealing with confinement and the dangers of space flight... mentally, physically, not much more dangerous a place then a tin can floating in space

No, there's other life out there. That bit I am happy with.

My question is -
Will we find it (or it find us) and will we be able to communicate (and will we learn this before our Star expands into a red giant and consumes half our system?)

I dont think we are alone , but i am not that bothered as long as they dont come here and shoot up the place , which we gonna lose anyway because if they are clever enough to get here , they are clever enough to take over the place , so ..neh i am not bothered

The universe is within you braaah as you look up into those stars and planets you're just seeing a reflection of your own inner body's working braaah like totally eletronics neutrons and protons revolving/orbitting around a nucleus and all that braaah the anthropomorphized constellations relfect your inner psychology braaaah all the talk from NASA and about aliens is distracting you from realizing you and we are the universe braaaah

on the lighter side... if we are alone then when you look up you are seeing the universe in the only way it has ever been seen, that's beautiful. If we aren't alone then when you look up you are probably watching at least a few dozen aliens do it, perv.

I believe that just due to the math we can't be alone. There are literally billions of galaxies, each containing billions of stars, each with the capacity to host planets. The idea that our planet is the only one out of that astronomically huge number (see what I did there ;) ) of planets is ridiculous to me.

Now, we may never meet other life, but it's out there.

I was going to say... It's a statistical improbability that our planet is the only planet with intelligent life, never mind life as a generality.

I ran across this article not long ago. The jist is that we may be among the first sentient species in the universe.

I found it sad, as I know some part of me has wanted some elder to show up and explain things to us. I suppose it is in line with many of my early religious instincts. A god or an angel, or an alien, coming to help us live well.

But, let us say, for the moment, that no one is coming. Let us say that we will encounter no intelligence apart from our own. The responsibility there is tremendous. We cannot wait to be saved or taught, apart from looking toward each other.

That said, I feel responsibility is central to my path as a Jedi. This is something to be confronted and embraced, rather than hidden from. And if someone shows up, and they come in peace, gravy.

We're just a petri dish in a universe so big we can't imagine all the possibilities.
