I am tired of the hate and ignorance. People are being manipulated into hating Muslims

Disregard the ‘powers that be’ part if you feel skeptical of this conspiracy theory (I sort of am).
Disregard the ‘divide and conquer’ part for the same reasons (also sort of).
Disregard the ‘attacks on Muslims’ part if you feel that’s not true (I believe it sort of is)

Without all this, the original starting post is a call for union, to reach over a divide regardless of its origin. Not every Muslim, not every gun owner, not everyone ever. Regardless of his argumentation and intentions I acknowledge this part of the message.

It's fine, whether people believe me or not, the message is the important part. I just feel that is the reason why there's been so much hate towards Muslims lately because of the powers that be. I mean it's not like governments of the past have never betrayed it's people before and dividing and conquering hasn't done before... although it has been done before with almost every corrupt empire and still is being done.

But I digress. I am just trying to get people to see the bigger picture, that's all.

We're keepers of the peace. Not soldiers. Well, ok, some of us are soldiers, but they do it not to kill, but to defend. To defend democracy. If keeping peace involves killing, then it must be done. For the greater good.

To a degree I get where you are coming from. However when calling for such action you had best be willing to sign on the dotted line and enlist to do it yourself. Because to do such a thing will be a heavy heavy cost emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Violence in general costs the person who commits it even with noble and righteous intent. To take it to the level of lethal intent is going to be a cost that few people are going to be able to shoulder undamaged. So if you are not willing to hold up that cost yourself one should not be advocating it.

As Jedi we are peace keepers. Sometimes this means going on the defensive and stopping violence if that is what is needed. However before we commit to such a plan you must be realistic in what it will take and what it will cost vs what benefit it will bring. Every effort to stop the situation by non violent means should be taken prior to " lighting your saber" so to speak. To give a historical example let us look at WW2. If we had not enacted vengeance and tried to cripple Germany after WW1. If we had held compassion as an ideal we would not have set in motion the situation that lead to Hitlers rise to power. Yes stopping Hitler was needed but look at what it cost. If only we had had compassion and mercy before hand we might not have had to pay that debt in the first place.

I served faithfully 10 years as a United States Marine and I am a gulf war veteran. Your damn right i would step up as i have already done so and would do it again if need be to defend the freedoms and rights of others from agression such as this.

It's spelled Muslim. I would like to give all Americans the ability to spell this word. It's only 6 letters, and if you want a starting point between you and another culture, learning to spell their identifying words is a great opener.

Also, ISIS is the radicalized group you're trying to speak of. That is an important distinction to make. Being lazy about making it will only put barriers in the wrong places.

Ive been busted by the grammar police! I know how to spell it, my fingers just got ahead of my brain as is attested by the two different spellings in my short note lol.

And to focus on that for ANOTHER thread is boring. Get over the conspiracy stuff, man. It's not productive to blame people. Go be the change.

I'm for the DID(Diplomacy, Intelligence, Defense) model. What I find saddening is when people think they understand what our government does, and they have no real experience in the field, or education on it. But even more saddening than that, is when people aren't willing to step up to the plate and contribute, but they are more than willing to call out our government for things we can't do right.

Before passing judgement on the government, know what you're talking about. If you think you can do better, then actually make the attempt to do better. People find ways all the time. But this complaining? It's just words. Words only mean something when you put them into action.

That is not a fair statement. One does not need to be a firefighter to know you do not put out a fire with gasoline. Our intervention in the middle east literally armed and funded Osama and his band which bit us in the rear down the road. We supported Saddam vs Iran which bit us later. What else are we doing now that will bite us down the road? The situation in the middle east is something we have been failing hard at since roughly 1985 on.

You can't put out all fires with water either. In fact, it's a practice to put fire out WITH FIRE.

Our tactics have changed since we went in in 1985. But really? The only two true ways to resolve the issue is out of the question (glass or completely conquer it). But we work through it. We find new ways....

It's just really hard when the culture has sewn cowardice and codependency into it's very fabric. I really hate terrorist leaders.
