So I saw
this article
about these pods you can be buried in that will slowly decompose and effectively you become fertiliser for a tree to grow.
I know in a lot of places green burials are becoming more popular as people start to realise the environmental problems caused by our traditional burial methods. Maybe not the the nicest thing to think about but I like the idea allowing new life to flourish post-mortem rather than being stuck in a box for eternity or burnt to a crisp.
What do you guys think?

My wife has plans to turn me into a tree when I die. I hope it's something mean and hard to kill... something with thorns... a mesquite would be about right!

I have always wanted to be buried at sea, but my dream is to be buried in space...buried at space? Hmm not sure how to say that. I don't ever plan on using this body again, but I like the idea of it being a lasting memorial. However, the cost is a bit prohibitive and I'm not sure NASA would go for it. I'd probably end up falling into a sun anyway.

Yeah I've seen that before and symbolically it seems like a great idea. It kind of still has the effect that you are still with your family not in the sky but from an earthly position which i like. imagine your great grand children telling their kids that the tree there swing is tied to is there great great grand father. kind of a cool thought imo. it's definitely the way i plan to be buried. a weeping willow is what i'd like to become lol.

This is a beautiful idea! I want to be a magnolia. With this method do you know if people can be buried on their own property or will they have to go to a dedicated cemetery?

Death is one of life's taboos... we should all talk about it more...
My brain is going to a university for research into Multiple Sclerosis but my body will probably be cremated.. not really a lot of burial space around.
It won't let me have a blank signature ...

Curled in the fetal position in a biodegradable tree "womb". There's a great deal of subtextual symbolism there that really appeals to me. I like this concept.

I've always told my kid that I want her to pitch me in a hole somewhere and forget where it was.
I'm not there anymore, what do I care? lol.

They've been using bio-degradable urns here in our community as the standard type of interment for quite a while now. The urn looks like it's made of pressed turf. It "dissolves" itself after a few weeks / months. They're urn-shaped and not as sexy as those cocoons, though
