The fading away of a star and the brightening of another

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone. I have been a christian most my life and even upon coming to this and becoming to tge temple I have still held to these beliefs not necarrily the religion as a whole the good aspects of the religion. Good to others, loving one another, charity, prayer and so on. The last year or so I have still taught bible studies, still attended faithfully, ect. But I have noticed as I studied and had my awakening that the whole allure of church, and preaching just wasnt the same. Preaching that used to bring me to an alter suddenly made me feel like the pastor was only using my emotions against me, they preaching was only a ploy to get me to believe what the pastor believed and create hate and negative emotions. I have begun to have my own beliefs and views. I am not disrespectful toward him I keep my opinions to myself. I mainly attend now for my wifes sake it makes her happy and i participate in service. But I was wondering if anyone has had a similiar experience. I am not saying that you as a jedi cannot be a christian and a jedi thats not my conclusion. But I feel a little uneasy its odd gping to church and not having that presence in service. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

I know exactly how you feel, however, my life went in the opposite direction. I was a Jedi first and a Christian later.

A good friend of mine explained it better than I ever could. He called it Christianity vs. Churchianity. You can easily be a Christian without going to a physical church. The "church" is technically the global group of people that call themselves Christians, not the building you go to on Sundays.

If you no longer feel joy in going to the church building, you should talk about it with your wife. Maybe you need to find a new place to go, somewhere you both feel comfortable. Ultimately, though, you need to find Christ who is already with you no matter where you go and stop worrying about what building you visit.

For many Christians, attending a worship service is less about the theology expressed in the ceremony than it is about the human community present there. I've gotten used to my social isolation but there are times I miss the idea of being part of such a group. Perhaps, one way to show your love for your wife is to happily engage with the people there before and after the worship service. When I accompany my wife to church on that rare special occasion, during the Mass I attend to the myths and symbols expressed therein, but what it is really about is sharing the comforting presence of friends.

I no longer consider myself a Christian because of the dogma of organized Christianity. I do however, consider myself a Disciple of Christ, because I still believe and have my own personal relationship with Him, outside of organized religion. When people ask where I go to church, because I can proselytize with the best of them, I say that I'm "home-churched", it's like being home-schooled for religion.

In my darkest hour, God spoke to me, and it sent me on a journey of discovery that led me away from the church, and eventually here. Being a Jedi and follower of Christ are not mutually exclusive.

It's all about Christ, for me. Jesus is my rock and my foundation. When I tackle a tough question, I start with, "What would Jesus say or do?" Then go from there.

I still like to talk to Christians about Jesus because iron sharpens iron and it's not good to forsake gathering together with other believers. But I ain't got time for "church." Jesus spoke very negatively about church and I can see why. He showed us how to walk and talk with God. He showed us how to know him personally while the church in its various forms tends to put the emphasis on rules and rituals.
Jesus is my everlasting Star and He will never dim. I see him as the greatest Jedi who ever lived. The Jedi "religion" has the potential to heal the world because it fits with Jesus's teaching but without the damnation and condemnation that tends to form around most religions. Since I my holiness is dependent on Christ's blood, how dare I tell someone else that they are not holy? Religion fools us into thinking that we are holy because we go to church or do some other equally meaningless activity. Personally, I'm more concerned with loving and helping my fellow man than I am about holiness anyway.
Historically, new religions have always been met by the established religion with cries of heresy, but if God is in it, heresy becomes holy.

Thanks for sharing, Sven. Maybe you can be a Jedi ambassador or evangelist to your church. As long as you put Christ first, who can argue?

Jedi ism is a different belief in where "If" you allow... many things many beliefs and many ideas can exist together. . .syncritsm. . .
That being said there will be some ideas that want to solely exist. With a Jedi mindset ...this... many can, if you choose to mentality....you will see others and how they differ and sometimes bicker and offend one another and their beliefs. Its not the beliefs sometimes friend but the people. People will find fault with anything that is not like them. Human nature I guess sometimes. Do not let others change your heart. Do not take others words for it...find it your self. So many times I remember repeating words with no meaning over and over. Once my heart grasped the concept , once I found it for myself rather than what I had seen and heard, oh friend, it was personally mine for ever and ever and I share it with every one. What I CALL my self is irrelevant... every person can learn and grow. sven you may change you may not during your time here. I can tell you this Jedi Knight and Minister you see today didn't log on the first time with me when I found the Temple. We are not the same person .If change happens then so be it, I hope this helps your focus a bit more friend. really it should be about you and not what others say, they don't live with you or love you or even know you well enough...yet you do...no one knows your heart better than you friend. Guard it well and do not stop looking for the light, as you seek it you become it, as u r now!
