I've never been very vocal here. Mostly because I'm a little embarassed that I've been part of this group for 3 years now, and still haven't gotten through the meditation lesson. I keep falling asleep listening to Watt's. But that is not why I'm posting. I was placed into foster care at about 3 years of age. I was never formally adopted due to medical costs. About 3 years ago, I discovered though DNA testing that the man I was told for 46 years was my birth father, wasn't. That set me on a 3 year journey of discovery to find whose blood flowed in my veins. In late October of last year, I was able through an Aunt to determine my paternal line. In January, it was confirmed which of 7 brothers was my father through testing my sister. I ended up with 5 new siblings from the deal. So in my personal life, this felt a bit like Campbell's Hero's Journey. Just last month, thanks to the help of the court clerk for the county that handled my case, I obtained the Judge's order that placed me in foster care. For me this was huge, as it marked the reboot of my life. When I thought about that one small piece of paper, I realized that was my crossing that threshold that Campbell talks about, where the old life is left behind, and a new one begins. Not sure why I'm sharing all this, except I thought it was a real world example of the story archs that Campbell discusses.

Hopefully some of us can serve you as the old wise man, or at the very least the comic relief, to accompany you in your journey. Thank you so much for sharing, and good luck on this new phase of your adventure!

Your journey is worth it friend. From one on like path, the rewards are endless. This path your on may seem as I saw it, lonely and over strengthening on my every fail, with time you realize you've been in charge the entire time. Meditation can only take you so far. Any single element can only take you so far... syncritism can free us the more we realize and utilize it. Keep on friend there is no typical end to things as far as LIFE but the rewards of time and effort you have already spent will not go invalid. May the LIVING Force be with you...still!
May your Focus continue to be strong!

Wow. What an amazing story
You don't have to be an expert at every lesson to move past it! Write something about what it meant to you, speak about the feelings you got from it, and release it. And it's okay to listen in stops and starts, and even over several days. It made me fall asleep too and I had to listen a few times to really get it.
If your story teaches one amazing point, it's to not let something small (or even huge!) keep you from moving forward!
