This has probably been done before but it's been a while so I thought we'd do it now (possibly again).

What kinds of things are you doing to make the world (or your small part of it) a better place?

Can be big or small (never underestimate the power of small acts). Regularly or sporadically. This isn't about bragging or making other people feel bad about not doing as much as some others. Just a chance to share with the group how you are being that beacon of light and hope that we all know you are. It's kind of hard for us to see it just via the internet. Shine on Jedi!

A few of the things that I do include.
  • I like to think that my position at the bank lets me help people out when I can. Refund some fee's, let some checks go through that might otherwise bounce, help stop fraud, help people recover from fraud, help people put money somewhere where it will do them more good, etc. I may work for "the man" but I try to use it to help "the people."
  • Pick up trash on the sidewalk. Let's face it some people just don't care if they litter. I like to pick up trash when I see it not in it's proper place.
  • I'm a rather funny guy. I like to make people smile, especially if I have yet to see them smile today. Never underestimate the power of making someone smile.
  • Zooniverse.org. A website where ordinary people help scientists sift through the mountains of data that they receive to speed up important research. I like to do the astronomy ones because I love space and I think that astronomical research has loads of value to society.

Not a comprehensive list by any means, but stuff that springs to mind right now.

A list, not fair! Thanks Goken.

My changes are family oriented so like when me and the boy or fam is at a park we always clean up. It's a house rule, I mess I clean.

We burn most of the paper trash we get when we can remember.

I have the TV games on a power strip so I hit the switch when not in use to minimize electric waist.

We have a rule to encourage OTHERS to read.
This summer we will plant potatoes and grow our own in house. We will see how that goes!

We often go days without TV. Unplug

Forward always forward. !

Well, let's see here, what do I do to make the world a better place?

Well, first and foremost, I stand as a confidant, there for anyone that needs me. I'd literally give the people around me the shirt off my back. Talked my friend through a tough time the other day. Hope it helped.

Secondly, I gave a cat an ear rub today. Can't take him home to the barracks, but he seemed to enjoy it. So bonus points from the Karma gods! Yay!

I also hold the door for anyone I see. Then I smile and say hello. That's pretty average but I'd rather hold the door for someone than be the d-bag that closes it in their face.

When I was a kid, I helped a lot with my mom's dog rescue.

I dunno. Maybe I just need to think of more ways to impact the world. I'm coming up short on ideas.

I'm not gonna write a big list right now, but I wanted to add my awesome dance moves while I'm at work listening to I heart radio. I always get happy when other people dance to their headphones, so maybe it goes both ways xD
