Kind of venting, kind of an attempt at something inspirational.
So, this month of December, I work 8 am - 7 pm on week days, and 9 - 5 on Saturdays. That's because we have about triple the customer base, given we're a shipping location. Today, I personally helped 107 customers. Not to mention the printing, processing and other responsibilities I have. I had a different customer, on average, about every six minutes. But you know what? That means I'll have a big pay check coming, and I have some debt I want to pay off before Freyja is born. It also means the days off coming up due to holidays won't leave me strapped for cash. And you know what else? It means I'm making myself invaluable, meaning raises. It's all good stuff, even though I only have four hours of free time per day for a while.
Is anyone else going through something like this? How are you taking it? I'd like anyone to vent or contribute their methods for success is stressful times.

Not as heavy a work-load as you, but considering the mental/physical health stuff I've been working through, the multiple 6 hour shifts I'm picking up this month are sure to be a strain... and yet, yeah, more money, and I know that I'm really helping my bosses out when they need it most. Even if I've messed up here and there, or can't do some of the stuff they were hoping I could do, I can definitely keep the store itself running when they have other things to do.
And yesterday my boss for my primary film job emailed me and asked me if I could come in in the evening and Livestream, which I usually only do once a month, so that was nice. It means he's trusting me and thinking about having me do more Livestreaming/filming than usual, and it means I get a little extra money - which is super important because I need a new car, have bills, want to buy people presents, and need to save for my flight out to school in the spring.
Actually, thanks for starting this. I'm fighting depression/anxiety today, and it's really nice focusing on the good side of all the work I'm doing.

Liking this thread soo much better than the rant thread, thank you Magmon.
Currently out of work, and am having to dip into my savings, and it sucks, cause I'm scrooge like that. AND i gotta wait four whole days before getting to watch the Force Awakens, bugs the unholy crap outta me that there are people watching it before i do. Anyways, all is not lost, i'll be making a small killing come tax season due to my being able to claim my youngest niece, so Christmas comes in February again, when has it not?

Not yet, but I teach at a school that operates 6 days a week and there's a relatively high chance that I'll be working 6 days a week for at least two years starting next summer
just hoping this won't destroy my family and my health. But I don't have any other options

I've worked six days a week for over a year. You'll do great. The thing that matters most is consistency with your schedule.

I think it's great that although you are experiencing the drain from the massive amount of work you've been doing as of late, your focus is upon the benefits the future will bring attributed to the work you are doing. Perspective can drag a person down, or build a person up depending upon the focus of such.
