I think there is a distinction to be made between "peace" and "absence of conflict". I do not believe these are the same thing. Conflict is a natural result of change and progression, and violence is born of conflict. I think a micro expression of physical violence, in response to a threat, in order to maintain the peace in the macro system is well within the tenets of Jediism, especially if you stil strive not to hate the other and to minimize the violence necessary to defend.
