Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.

Pipotron V wrote: My ideal meditation room would have lots of EL lights, disco lights, visionary art, black lights, plasma lights, bubble lamps, and techno music, and maybe a vibrating pillow to put the laptop on. Weird, but that idea just seems lovely. I did it with the one I had and it was heaven. An Indian Puja Mandir would make an excellent meditation throne as well. Put curtains around it and you have an instant zone out space. So my Jedi friends, what's your meditation space like? Do you think my idea is crazy?
Sounds great!! I had a room like that, had a lava lamp, dodgy DJ deck setup, couple of bean bags, small tables covered in half melted candles... and it had one of these things (but without the fibres) which shone multicolored lights onto the ceiling!!

Now I meditate everywhere, and just make my living space calm and serene to reinforce the practise.

I think that we all pass by that : a secret space that we decorate and thereby "dedicate" to meditation ; the incense, the candle wax and images that range from sign to allegory to symbol ...
We almost invariably arrive at what Adder said there at the end : we are ourselves (our bodies and as far as they extend) that "sacred space". Life itself can be a meditation, we just have to "be there" for It.

"A temple is erected there to signify and inspire the miracle of perfect centeredness; for this is the place of the breakthrough into abundance. Someone at this point discovered eternity. Such temples can serve, therefore, as a support for fruitful meditation. ... Or again: a great temple can be established anywhere. Because, finally, the All is everywhere, and anywhere may become the seat of power. Any blade of grass may assume, in myth, the figure of the savior and conduct the questing wandered into the sanctum sanctorum of his own heart."
pg.35 The Hero With A Thousand Faces, Joseph Campbell.
What Alex and Adder said reminded me of this.

The word blanket keeps coming to mind, lol.
A nuturing outer environment. chosen by the journeyer, which supports the inner journey.
One set of sacred objects are the props which support the body for each form that I may be utilizing. The same is placed in the car for outside meditations.
I don't have any charms in charged with the capacity to be causal, but . . . . that which is around me is pleasing to me.
Yes, my meditation room becomes me. . . .

Damn straight. Though I don't meditate much anymore, if at all. I guess I just feel like I need to DO more. Time seems far more elusive these days.

As for the room, the Jedi meditation hall and Yoda's quarters would be nice. Put some canopies over those cushions with a couple laptop stands and that would be fun. So awesome looking.
If I could design something, a house modeled after the whole temple would be nice:
The Academy
A dark more ominous space:
A pod meditation room:
Temple:
I probably won't be able to do something this good, but the futuristic high tech look, I like.
