I went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium today and noticed this campaign they've got going called Seafood Watch. Basically the concern is that fishing has become a ridiculous business, and that there are ways to help prevent needless casualties. Below is a link to their campaign. Thought I'd share it with you

I dont fish for sport and the only animal I eat is chicken but I read yesterday if you catch crab's for food - look for an aged shell to ascertain the amount of crab meat inside. If you've caught a crab which has recently molted its shell, then it will not have much meat inside and you will be needlessly killing a crab for no food value - better to throw it back alive so it can fatten up. So look for an aged shell, and gently feel its belly for firmness's - but watch out for the claws
