Happy Friday Everybody

I would like to talk today with you about resilience and how important it is that we incorporate resilience into our everyday life. Anyone who's gone through any period of Life understands that it's difficult. It'll beat you down and it will continue to beat you down if you aren’t prepared for it. We all develop coping mechanisms in our lives.

We've all gone through the doctrine so I will touch on that but mostly this is going to be a personal exposition.

Emotion yet peace.  This is the first part of the Code. Resilience in my view, is a person's ability to face adversarial situation after adversarial situation and continue. In my life I've gone through injury, heartbreak, and disappointment multiple times; and to varying degrees. Much of my resilience comes from habits and teachings when I was young. But as we grow, those habits and teachings need to grow with us. Jediism as a practice, Develops and refines resilience. An easy example is in the meditation where, “there is despair, hope”. Many of our lessons teach resilience.

Throughout my adult life. The practices we espouse and keep faith with, have provided a framework to improve my life. It was the teachings of the Temple that, at my worst days, helped bring me through it. I'm not a therapist, but I have worked with one.

Here is what I have learned:

-Clean your room and make your bed every morning. Its nice to not have to make your bed, no matter how your day went, being able to crash into bed is awesome. It provides a calm place to return to. Harmony amongst the Chaos.

-Meditate daily. Meditation helps with stress, processing intense situations and being able to process emotion reliably is a boon.

-When you mess up, take responsibility, learn and move on. This is a reflection of Agency, but it is the most efficient way, in my humble opinion, of spiritual and mental improvement. Sometimes its quick, sometimes its not. Try to keep out of the whirlwind of emotion and learn what needs to change. This is not a weakness, and it is only really a failure if you don’t learn from it.

-Let your actions speak for themselves. In this act of humility, when you speak, your actions back your claims. From compassion to integrity, your character will be seen.

-Take on something new when you can. New challenges will help you grow, but be honest about your capability.

These are simple lessons, and there will be ones you find that may serve you better. We should think often introspectively. We often think about our beliefs, but how often do we consider integration fully in our lives?

Do you continue your learning after your training? Learning and teaching is a large part of mastery in any discipline.

I found my resilience improved as I overcame or was defeated by each challenge. I had many of our teachings in fragments in my head. Like any revelation, the mental dots connected and the things I knew how to do fell into place.

There are many ways to increase your resilience. Almost all of them come from experience and knowledge. Expand your mind. Bake positivity into your day and as always. May the force be with you.
