Does someone do some charity coding like these:
* bountysource.com
* givecamp.org
* hackforchange.org
* coders4charities
Or some open-source/free-software stuff or something for totjo?
I'm interested in your experience, would you plz share?
BTW, do we have a task force for developers among Jedi here?

And I can teach some things informally. Been coding since 13, 3+ years of industry xp, 5y of math/IT education.
I even know where to start - I think, python is a great introduction.
Just not sure how to organize this. I think this should be organized by those-in-charge )

I've done some small modules in C++ under an SDK, and that's about it. Plus website design too (php, javascript), but that might not really count as programming :lol:

JS nowadays seems to gain popularity. Node.js, Angular,js and all this etc.js-s come from web to desktop dev. ) And C++ background is like knowing the most universal kungfu style. )
I know C/C++, have C#/.NET xp and am now diving into python & Django web dev. Along the way I grabbed lots of shallow xp w/ different other languages - tiny bits of js, php, pascal and even (!)lisp
Should we ask senior members of totjo to consider making a group for us to hack in the Jedi way? )
If we had a group, we could benefit from it in lots of ways:
* teach programming (makes you a better programmer yourself AFAIK)
* learn programming
* upgrade/fix temple if so allowed (like zen monks who do temple stuff hah)
* gather up and make some Jedi project (a random wild fantasy: Jedi programming language)
* go into charity hackathon as a team
* go into non-charity hackathon as a team "for the lulz"
* share xp in a community with very positive ecology

I have 12 years industry experience building line of business apps and websites. Mostly .Net based but experience with a multitude of other languages.
I would love to participate in a group here if we had one. Brilliant idea Den.

Dear Den.
Can you delay the idea?
I have the new years resolution to be active again with coding, but for now i am in the middle of something else.
After 1 January i will be able to help you with that idea.
In any case here are my two cents
1)We need a knight to run this up, and of course it is good to run this all this project with the approval of the counsil.
2)For organizing that we need someone skilled project manager or team manager otherwise we will not get far, (we will eventualy have someone "Ultra-brave-skilled-bad-ass-notnoob-coder" to take all the projects from the others and finaly deliver nothing (instead of moaning), by destroyning the teamwork (as always).
3) we need build a common ground for the gaming community jedis, because the gamers of today are usually the coders of tommorow and we will need their pation and creativity.
MtFbwY.
Robert.

@Exarchias, you're totally right.
1) Time
I myself am in-between jobs and doing a "pet project" w/ deadline at 11th january. Will be a little more free then, but I will be pretty busy until spring I think. I 'll still be able to give 2 to 5 hours a week to the initiative, I estimate.
I propose to delay action until at least New Year.
2) People
* We need a Knight. @Adder, will you vouch for this group to Council? No one else here can.
* As for a project manager, who has the experience? I don't.
* As for gamers - who can oversee them? I myself am rarely playing last years. I can't.
