I can't help but feel that this is an exceptional marketing ploy....

Duh.
Japan loves N Korea. We in the Americas really have no idea the impact this may have in the east.
It worked
What was the goal? What did they want to achieve from this. $?

And don't forget they both (the USSR and USA) had ballistic missile submarines which could go almost wherever they wanted anyway... so the Cold War was about something a little more philosophical/political I think.

I truly feel sorry for you....ren wrote: The US put ballistic missiles in turkey (with a range that could hit moscow). The US attempted an invasion of cuba. The US had ballistic missiles on US soil (and that's close to cuba). It made perfect sense for cuba to acquire ballistic missiles as well after this. And in fact, it has served them reasonably well; the US had to agree not to attack cuba unprovoked again. It also has high quality education and medical care... As can be observed in the vast list of international awards castro has received.

Yeah, coz supporting the US is so much better. Highest incarceration rate in the world, cops shoot you at will, CIA assassinates and tortures, only country to ever have deployed weapons of mass destruction on anyone, constantly meddling in other countries' internal affairs, etc. Don't try to pull that old "holier than thou no true jedi" crap on me.

I dont think any country has clean hands. I also do not care if you support the U.S. However, you did try to pain Cuba as some kind of victim and Castro international awards as if this also wasnt a "holier than thou" ploy. Lol Obama got a nobel peace prize...
Yeah, the U.S. does bad things, still, its pretty interesting on how many other countries(Cuba being a big one) want to come over here illegally. Lol, and then they complain about the freedoms they do not have, but choose to steal if they can.
Whether or not your a Jedi is arguable, especially since subjectivity is the main line of defense on this forum, so its an irrelevant discussion in any event.
Jedi itself is a discussion that can only go nowhere, but rest assured, you will receive no pity from me in either case.
