Userpics and nicknames

In my younger years I was much more protective of my information, my face, and all that. Call it a false sense of security, but I just felt that there wasn't much of a threat here. I've even begun to use my full name in some official Temple documents. My username comes from a character in a comic strip I had in the works. The main character was basically going to be my mouthpiece (hence why I gave it the first name Jamie) and it was a stick figure so I just used Stick as the last name.
I think it really depends on the person. Some of us are really tied to the Star Wars mythos and draw from it heavily in our Jedi path, some of us are not. Some of us *cough*me*cough* have watched the original trilogy so many times the lines practically fall from our lips when we watch again. I am incredibly attached to Star Wars, however I've chosen to avoid using stuff from the mythos because that's not why I became a Jedi. In fact, one of the reasons I didn't become a Jedi sooner might best be stated as, "I was afraid of the backlash I would receive for embracing something that had ties to one of my biggest fandoms".

My profile picture changes a bit, sometimes it's me in armor, sometimes its roses. Depends on my mood I guess I found a really great image of a medicine woman with her child and thunderbirds flying over to protect her clans. Thought it was a beautiful picture.
Hope that helps.

My name is from a D& D character I created in 1977 that never died in battle and has lived from 1977 D&D through the Star Wars RPG from Wizards of the Coast in 20??.
Besides for my personal connection, the name and avatar are meaningless to others. It is my actions and deeds that is all that others are concerned for.
A Jedi by any other name is still a Jedi! OR...You could put lipstick and a skirt on a pig, but it's still a pig! :woohoo:

In Greek mythology, Proteus (/ˈproʊtiəs, -tjuːs/; Greek: Πρωτεύς) is an early sea-god or god of rivers and oceanic bodies of water, one of several deities whom Homer calls the "Old Man of the Sea". Some who ascribe to him a specific domain call him the god of "elusive sea change", which suggests the constantly changing nature of the sea or the liquid quality of water in general. He can foretell the future, but, in a mytheme familiar to several cultures, will change his shape to avoid having to; he will answer only to someone who is capable of capturing him.
Name is used to refer to a mythological > metaphorical representation of reality beyond the ego. Everything is flowing, happening, changing... all is elusive. It is reference to the real self for which I am learning to be aware of.
Past avatars (and likely future ones) tend to be chosen art based on the above vision of reality - the illusionary self being connected to, and therefore, an extension of the universe seamlessly in some way.
