Thank you Br. John for the fix and clear up on the Editing rules here :) *Bows* As to your question, there were many who were interviewed, Laurent was filming the Jedi for about half the year traveling out to people in different parts of the USA, he was steadfast and dedicated to his work and thus met many of us Jedi. Just as a quick basic run down copy and pasted from the American Jedi discription some of the Jedi are but not limited to: Opie Macleod, Gabriel Calderon, Perris Cartwright, Kitsu Tails, Michael Hannigan, Michael Grubb & Michael Monk. Also featuring: Ross Greenberg, Boom Darklighter, Katie Mock, Miles, Charles, Mendas, Daniel Atlas, Ilse Liset, Jeremy Cowan, Alex Bird, Andy Spalding, Vishwa Jay, Karen Schwob-Ticknor, Crystal Neumann, Dan McCann, Rosalyn Johnson, Audrey Escalante, and many more to come...

Michael Grub, Karen Schwob & Vishwa Jay I believe are the three who have at the very least discussed their TK abilities...I am unsure if they actually demonstrated it or not. There were also many of us (Including me) who strictly informed that TK is not wide spread in the Jedi Way and is individual to those who care for it.

As for speaking of Jediism itself I do know that it was apart of his questions, asking what our beliefs were and how they spanned. Myself I touched up on the history of Jedi which included Jediism. Weather or not it will be edited into the film.....I do not know.

Revan Falton -We would be very happy to have you! Give me some time to fix up our application forms and I will update with link here so that members of totjo can sign up and join us at our Annual offline events. Many of us will be traveling about 6 hours to get to the Indiana one. (I think its 6 hours from Michigan to Indiana camp site....i have to check) Please do keep an eye on that page as Crystal and myself will update it as more information comes to us. She is currently in the negotiating stages with the campground on Registration Fee's which is looking near $200 though has the potential to change depending on what deals she can come up with...with them.

Thank you all for you time and questions. Please feel free to ask more! I will gladly answer to the best of my ability. *bows*

If I may speak to the choice of title, I discussed the topic with Laurent at the Gathering.

Part of the thesis of the film involves Laurent's notion of a spiritual marketplace in the US. People who find more traditional religions and spiritual systems unsatisfying shop around or cobble something together.

With a look to the fiction, the Jedi are a pastiche of many things. That tendency to pick and choose and staple together seems, to me at least, to be a very American habit. Not uniquely, perhaps, but that is the feel.

Also, all the main subjects of the film are Americans with all the basic cultural traits thereof.

I am quite certain that the intention was not to exclude. Also, if you could promise him a tour of Europe, I'm sure he would make a sequel called Euro Jedi in a snap. ;-)

Yes. *nods* It has been discussed a couple time's that the amount of content Laurent has received on Jedi could very likely be enough to create a full series documentary on Jedi rather than a single 2 hour movie. Doing a couple Episodes on Jedi overseas would be an interesting bonus. Though one has to keep in mind...he has to pay for all of this, travel expenses, filming products, paying his editors, advertising, ect ect.....Its all out of pocket and charity so....overseas would deff put a dent in funding I would imagine.

I am so glad to see this page up. I hope that this is an amazing event.

I am wondering if anyone would like to "pre-meet" before this event?

Would anyone like to gather as a community at the location that this event is happening at?
Strengthen our connections by meeting in person
Or just having lunch on my. I would be happy to provide lunch or dinner for anyone that would like to create a meetup.

I am here for the community and I would like to support it how I can.

Let me know what you think.

I would sure be interested to know what demonstrations he did. And be provided an opportunity to explain the thoughts of a Jedi on the other side of the spectrum.

Baru!

Hello There! Good to meet you ^_^

There are meet up's happening all the time! Where are you located? Perhaps there will be one near you. Discussion over at Gathered Force Community has brought up the suggestion of hosting a Offline Meet Up to view the Release of the documentry when it is Released so that we can all be there to watch it at the same time (And perhaps tease eachother about our parts in it. LoL) Check It Out!

There might not be much content left unused eventually. Look what's going on with the Bronies documentary. He's not finished with it yet. There's more coming. See http://www.bronydoc.com/ . Something similar could happen with American Jedi.

I'm curious about the Jediism part. Did he interview anyone who actually practices Jediism other than maybe a couple of people I can think of? Are there any organizations in The US that are Jedi churches or religious orders besides TOTJO and TOTJF anymore?

As far as I am aware he was not focused on the religious aspects as much and more focused on how Jedi Lived their lives daily as well as the Knighting Ceremony held at the gathering. The Knighting Ceremony was his biggest focus and is "Star" in the plotline. As far as I know.

I am certain there are a few who have mentioned their more personal religious undertones in life. But for the most part we did not go plugging in websites and "set" communities save for the advertisement on Jedi shirts (Like Hannigan) and Opies Books, and things that were physically viewed in the process of interview.

I'm afraid I can't answer any further than that, as I only know my part in it. I am not a Jedi Religious follower, my path is more physical/practitioner so I did not go into much detail on the religious side of things.

I sent Laurent a scientific explanation the moment I found out and offered my video (Force Powers) for him to watch. Charles or Hannigan mentioned that someone said something regarding Grubbs outlandish kinesises. If Laurant wants to find me to give the opposing view I'm a bit closer and very much willing to combat Grubb's work.

(I'm not find of someone willing to risk the reputation of a college professor of Astrophysics career by claiming he supports such none sense when he doesn't... Which did actually happen until the professor threatened to sue him if he didn't take his name off the project)
