Keeping Calm and Centered

I like the idea of making a list. Something that you maybe can add if you want to is write them on index cards, and write how they make you feel and something positive like maybe how you think you should resolve the feelings. Have some fun and use different colors for each? But when you feel you're done with each, destroy them. Shred them, burn them, cut them up into little pieces, soak them in water until they fall apart, but get rid of them in some permanent way. Put some finality to it and let it all go. I've never thought about writing things down like that list before but I like the idea of tangible symbolism to help me

Burning was definitely the last step in the plan for this list. I just have to figure out where to do it so I won't destroy a few city blocks. Colorado has been a little sensitive when it comes to fires lately. :pinch: Haha.
And Wescli, I think I'm going to have to frame that post and keep it on my desk. Thank you very much for that. I think it's almost exactly what I've been looking for.

LOL what are you trying to do? Set up a bonfire?!

You can get a smudge bowl, a mini cauldron, or even a ceramic planting pot and just stick a tealight candle or three in it

And if this is something that floats your boat, you can do a kind of ceremonial setup if you need or want that kind of meaning. I have a ceramic smudge bowl with of sand from places I've lived. I stick a piece of charcoal in it that's meant for loose incense/resins. I'll use either Dragonsblood resin, or usually sage by itself or with lavender. I've only burned paper like this once and it smoldered into ash instead of flame but it worked for me and it smelled good too

I have tried not to let it effect anyone else, but I know all it is doing is adding undue stress to my life. Is there anything that you all do to keep yourself calm throughout the day to help prevent the little things getting to you, rather than simply catching yourself already getting ready to punch a wall, go off on someone who may not deserve it, or some other silliness?
It's a tough situation and it usually happens to me when I'm not getting what I want or fast enough, frustration or pressure I have no control over? Sometimes I just don't handle fools well when I should be compassionate.
What situations upset you?

Haha. No, nothing so fun. I just don't have a lot of options like that. May have to stick to my sink. :dry:Kamizu wrote: LOL what are you trying to do? Set up a bonfire?!
That took me a second, but I think you just made my day. :laugh:RyuJin wrote: when it gets to be too much I take a deep breath in through my nose and exhale slowly out my mouth and utter the word fah kit....
Lately it's been just normal work stresses. Dealing with difficult customers, dealing with my agents, things like that. Although applying a few of the suggestions people have given in this thread has been an immense help.Rickie The Grey wrote: What situations upset you?
