Alethea Thompson wrote: "Stop praying. Praying is a sense of false accomplishment, thus leading you to inaction. If you stop praying, you will be driven to take action, which in the end will prove more effective." - Nathan Thompson

That is probably the most profound thing I've heard in my life. And he said that just now in response to your post Rick the Grey, while munching on some McDonald's french fries, but that's not the point. The point is that he is ABSOLUTELY right. There is a LOT you can do other than pray, you just need to look around and figure out what it is based on your own abilities.

Nice to here from you. I am a peace loving and peacefull man and am not blind to the world evils but I know my limits. Sure I could be making greater sacrifices toward world peace. All of us could be.

Outside of my range of influence and my abilities I believe prayer helps. Prayer and action go hand in hand. Of course it depends on how you definfe "prayer".

Nathen "The French Fry Philospher" :) thank you. :)

A song has been playing on my favorite radio station lately with the following lyrics:

Matthew West wrote: Well, I just couldn’t bear the thought of
People living in poverty
Children sold into slavery
The thought disgusted me
So, I shook my fist at Heaven
Said, “God, why don’t You do something?”
He said, “I did, I created you”

Someone has to answer the call. I imagine we can each play our part, the challenge is to figure out which role we are meant for.
