Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.

The thing is, this same perspective tells us all that blood spilled is a temporary mix of a tiny portion of water and a tinier portion of trace elements of a fraction of a dot...
i think Sagan may have said this after watching too much Star Trek  :silly:

In the grand scheme of things it is all of little consequence. Or; past events allow the setting for future possibilities.
Whether we choose to focus on the perceived good or bad of mankind’s actions is of little merit if we do not learn from them.
“Cherish this moment, remember it, always… for it is the doom of man that they forget.”
~ Merlin

Most of it is based on the illusion that power means control over others, when all that does is binds you to them such that they have control over you.

I think Carl Sagan, and I am a huge Carl Sagan fan, but I think his perspective is off.
Its from someone outside looking in.
The earth doesnt look like a dot from where I stand.
Truth be told, those willing to fight over becoming master of a fraction of it were posssibly more in the present moment more than he was.
The earth currently, is the only home we got, and its pretty big in regards to being just a dot on its surface.
I like to look out at the stars as a member of the earth and contemplate its history, sciences, philosophies, places, questions, etc, rather than look at it from the outside and reduce its significance.
Perhaps a smaller, narrow perspective, but no less richer.

I feel like the "the earth is just a dot in the universe" kinda...perspective is a double edge sword in a way.
Sure you can say what is the point of being the master of a fraction of a dot, but it can also be said, who cares what those people do in that fraction of a dot, does it really matter compared to the rest of the universe?
even if we were talking about something that affected our entire galaxy it's just one galaxy amid thousands, millions...
I agree with what Khaos said.

If I exercise moving between different perspectives like mentioned above, it feels like I can understand them as a convergent pattern, of which it's limit could be the/a better appreciation of the Force :S

Hello all -
When we are familiarized with a writer or any person,we can to view their particular
point relative to their individual perspective, maybe.
I can recommend the book The cosmic connection of Sagan
More particulary the chapter XXIV about the Dolphins...Carl is perhaps one
of the most perceptive minds and can understood ,and can to comunicate with
diverse beings.
...Dolphins are very smart.
The comunications with them and with lots of others beings in nature is a
challenge.
Carl did have a experience very great in this point. But i don't want to go off topic:
The point is the idea of immanence and transcendence ,having a point of view high to
watch one behaviour in this case, that can to appear as vanity ...or horrible, from the
perspective of a spiritual mind, for example.
In Yoga words, the concepts of Dharana and Samadhi...or in Thelema the idea of Had and Nuit.
Manifestation and transcendence, or cosmic space ... for watching a point determinated (in this case)
Thanks and deep peace for all
