Good day fellows.
I want to speak on our path. Often we see more of the failures in life than the successes. Instead of telling you don’t worry about the failures, I wanted to offer a perspective.
We have multiple tomes that we look into to seek wisdom, knowledge and our own enlightenment… Or because they are assignments that we have to be familiar with.
I recall more than one of my apprentice’s (as well as my own) loathing of the dryness of Nietzsche or the complexity of Watts. They contain a good amount of information though. These works are a framework that we MAY distill wisdom from. It takes time though.
Life is the same way. Our experiences shape us, in good and bad ways. It is not just the duty of each member who shares our beliefs, but I think all of life to improve. To get better and to find the lighter side of ourselves. That does not mean that we do not carry the scars of our past. Those scars are important though, very much so.
Many who are young (and us in our older years) do not seek to learn from our past. Or seek to live in it. Fear is often something that brings that out; fear not to succeed, but to succeed and then fail. To fall. I am here to tell you, we all rise and fall multiple times.
What matters is that we stand back up. It may not be right away, some falls are harder than others, they hurt more, they damage us more. We may need help to find the strength to rise. Whether it be from inspiration, a friend/loved one, a kindness or something else.. we still rise.
How does it really apply to the daily problems of our lives? Well, lets shift perspective.
In our world, most have to think ahead, far ahead to be able to keep their heads above water. Life can be distracting, overwhelming or just plain mean. It can keep this up for years, because life doesn’t stop.
What if we narrow our vision then? Think about just today and if that is overwhelming then just this hour? Then instead of a full table of overwhelming life, we have little bite sized bits.
Those are easy to do (most of the time). We have a lesson: Jedi Accept Their Limitations. Some limitations are not forever though.
No one, not a person, is 100% all the time. We burn out, not just at our place of employment or at school. We see this in relationships, or even life in general.
I have given now, twisty turny examples… So I will now be clear.
It is, in the end, up to us all to decide to stand up after we fail and how we do so. Tell me there is not someone who continually kicks themselves (metaphorically) after failing. What would you do if a friend, who you know put in effort and continued to struggle, was going through that? I would like to think we would offer aid, even if it is just to talk.
We are compassionate not just to others, but to ourselves as well. We are not decent just to others, but to ourselves.
So remember your failures, remember your triumphs, and remember that you cannot succeed without risking failure. Remember our 19th maxim: Valor. Valor the absence of fear, nor a lack of
In the end, our scars heal stronger than normal skin. Our failures make us stronger, and failure is the best teacher.
Go out, do great things, on whatever scale is within your limits! But remember, to never fear failure, because success will be closer even if you do. Are there consequences? Yes. That is where knowing your limitations comes in. Make your goals small at first each time you feel you have failed, and build upward. Keep courage in your heart my fellows.
