I'm altering this slightly from what I have on facebook, so here's the question, you are given a community college that teaches strictly the Jedi Path. The government doesn't require you to have so many hours in science or what have you. You could say it is a lot like a Technical College, where you just focus on your major alone. A community college consists of 60 credit hours, what degrees do you offer, and what requirements do you have for each degree?

Degree qualification Scheme, Aletha! I think as an apprentice you have access to some of it's sub forums. ;)

And we don't do hours... we do points, which I honestly think isn't as valuable as the lessons... and I seriously doubt anyone is here for the degree

Uhg...It's suppose to be fun. Something to contemplate as FUN, not what we do here. For example, I fully expect RJK to come out with a few that would have degree programs for:

Jedi Guardian
Jedi Mystic
Jedi Sentinel
Jedi Consulor

...and i think there's a fifth one? Healer? (I don't know a whole lot about the cannon)

And then list things like

Jedi Guardian:
Introduction to International Law
Introduction to Emergency Preparedness
etc, etc

Jedi Counselor:
Psychological First Aide
Diplomacy, etc, etc

Jedi Healer:
Introduction to Reiki and Quigong Theory
Introduction to Herbology, etc, etc

You know stuff like that. Or you could do the more "accredited" method and offer an associates in psychology, criminal justice, EMT, Alternative Healing, ministry, etc, etc

In fairness you put this in general discussions, and even 'serious' discussions I still find 'fun' :woohoo: lol

There would be little difference... I'm studying a degree in Comparative Religious Studies, but only 2 courses in my entire three years here are required... I can do more philosophy modules than religious studies modules and still get a degree in religious studies rather than philosophy.

I can study Buddhism, or choose not to, or study religion in film, or choose not to...

A degree in Jediism? There is only the degree in Jediism. You can choose to study Zen Buddhism, or choose not to, or study New Age spirituality, or choose not to, or study Moral Philosophy, or choose not to...

So... it would be them same as it is now really... lol

So nothing physical? I mean, the college (which I should have specified) is brick and mortar- no one would have like a Martial Arts class (or even lightsabers- not that it would be my cup of tea, but it's there)?

I'm not getting at anything in particular, just trying to expand the discussion, I like reading grand ideas- the sky is the limit type stuff. :) Well as this has gotten a few posts in, here's my own break down:

The first 30 credits would be general studies:

Introduction to the Jedi Code (2 credits)
Introduction to the Jedi Doctrine (3 credits)
Introduction to Comparative Religious Studies (3 credits)
Nutrition (2 credits)
Physical Fitness (12 credits) (there would be a variety of different options available based on the person's interest, from Martial Arts to basic gym- if the individual could not physically participate in anything, this would simply be replaced by an elective. 3 credits for each semester)
Critical Thinking (3 credits)
Emotional Intelligence (Intro to the Jedi Code being a prerequisite for this class) (3 credits)
Introduction to Meditation (2 credits)

Then you would have your specialization. So far the only one I have worked out is Mystic:

Introduction to "the Force" (covers subjects that various religions believe "the Force" can be used for, and their different terms) (3 credits)
Introduction to Hearing Voices (3 credits)
Introduction to Alternative Healing (3 credits)
Prayer, Ceremony and Ritual (3 credits)
Psychological First Aide/Counseling (9 credits)
Introduction to Spiritual Defenses and Exorcisms (4 credits)
Advanced Meditation (2 credits)
Comparative Religious Studies 102 (3 credits)

"reality an introduction to"

LMAO!!!!

But "Introduction to "the Force"" would cover "Energy Work in different aspects" :)

As for the science one, I know just the person to employ to teach that class- and I would attend every last one of them just to watch him facepalm when someone said "Quantum Mechanics tells us that we can use quantum entanglement to perform telepathy"   (my husband ;) )
