I am interested in learning more about Chakras and would appreciate people here giving me there view's or opinions, even if it's just your belief or disbelief.. Here's what I have found so far.

The Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra is the 7th Chakra and is located at the crown of the head and can connect us to our spiritual self. It promotes positive thought patterns, inspiration and imagination. It controls the pineal gland.

If the Crown Chakra is not functioning correctly it may result in confusion, lack of clarity, depression, obsessional thinking, chronic exhaustion, epilepsy and Alzheimer's.

The Brow Chakra

The Brow Chakra or third eye is the 6th Chakra and is situated just above the eyebrows.

The Brow Chakra controls the pituitary gland and thus controls and balances all the other glands in the endocrine system, nose, ears and sinuses. It promotes vision, intuition, psychic abilities, concentration, self knowledge and insight.

If this chakra is not functioning correctly it may lead to problems such as headaches, nightmares, eye problems, poor vision, neurological disturbances, glaucoma, learning difficulties and hallucinations.

The Throat Chakra

The Throat Chakra is the 5th Chakra and is located in the throat area. It is the link between ourselves and the world around us and is associated with communication, self-expression and sounds.

The Throat Chakra controls the thyroid gland, voice, oesophagus, neck and lower jaw.

If it is not functioning correctly it may lead to stiff necks, colds, sore throats, thyroid and hearing problems, tinnitus, asthma. On an emotional level its dysfunction is associated with an inability to express emotions.

The Heart Chakra

The Heart Chakra is the 4th Chakra and is situated in the centre of the chest. It holds our emotional centre and promotes compassion, love, understanding, sharing and forgiveness.

It controls the thymus gland, heart, blood pressure/ circulation and the whole of the immune system.

If this chakra is not functioning correctly it may lead to lung disease, asthma, heart disease, shallow breathing, high blood pressure and problems with the arms, hands and fingers. On an emotional level its dysfunction may give rise to fears about betrayal.

The Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solar Plexus Chakra is the 3rd Chakra and is situated between the navel and base of the rib cage. It promotes confidence, humour, personal power, authority, humour, laughter and warmth. It gives us our sense of identity and personality.

The Solar Plexus Chakra controls the adrenals, stomach, liver, gall bladder and the digestive system.

If this Chakra is not functioning correctly it may result in stomach ulcers and other digestive disorders, diabetes, low vitality, chronic fatigue and allergies. On an emotional level it may make you oversensitive to criticism, have low self-esteem and produce a need to be in control.

The Sacral Chakra

The Sacral or Naval Chakra is the 2nd Chakra and is located between the pubic bone and the navel. It promotes physical force, vitality and strength and it generates creativity, new ideas, passion, endurance and sexual energy.

The Sacral Chakra controls the Gonads (ovaries and testes) and the fluid function of the body.

If this chakra is not functioning correctly if may lead to impotence, bladder, kidney and uterine disorders, prostate problems, lower back pain and infertility. On an emotional level it is associated with fear, shock and guilt.

The Base Chakra

The Base Chakra is the 1st chakra and is situated at the base of the spine.

The Base Chakra controls the adrenal glands, kidneys, spine and the whole of the nervous system. It promotes physical survival, vitality, stability, patience, courage and material success.

If this chakra is not functioning correctly it may lead to problems associated with the legs, feet, bones, teeth, hips, buttocks, osteoarthritis, constipation and obesity

I know there are considered to be many more areas, any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks

I know I just send you a message but I'll post it here too.
I did apprentice lessons on these and I have a book called Eastern Body Western Mind - it's comparable to a chakra bible in every sense of the word.

My lesson on chakras.

My lesson on crystals.

A lot of people think these types of things are all in your head and only work because you want them to. Let them. :)
Try them out and see if it's something that resonates with you.
Personally, I believe in the soul - and the soul is the living being with the body being a vehicle. It makes sense, to me, that the soul would have a way of functioning and can't imagine why this isn't a very possibly way it does.
Even if it is all in our heads, I think it's good to explore it for yourself with an open mind and heart as with almost everything else in life.

May the Force be with you, always.

The Sacral chakra, deals generally with your sexual energy. It can only produce healthy energy, when enriched under the appropriate marital environment. While marriage today is just a game, families are the strongest unit of a tribe and therefor it is important to encourage real love, marriage and the building of families.

The Naval chakra deals with personal power and storage of the life force (prana). To build life force correctly, you must eat healthy and natural foods. (Raw veganism, veganism).

The Heart chakra deals with compassion, love, respect, and emotional fulfillment. Such can be achieved through healthy relationships, and love and harmoney between people. Only through compassion can we grow healthy as a society.

The Throat chakra deals with communication and self expression. The Holy Quran teaches, 'Verily man is in loss... Except those who believe and do righteous deeds and recommend truth and recommend patience."

The Crown chakra deals with wisdom, intuition, awareness, and spirituality.

Only by enriching each of these chakras in the right way, can you reach your potential as a human being. Therefor one must invest and enrich all their physical, mental, and emotional requirements into the righteous path, to grow spiritually and beceome a master of yourself. Only then can you reach your potential, only then can you become a complete human.

The Dark Side knows this and the battle they've been conducting deals specifically with this, one by one they've attacked your chakras in the very order they exist. To reach enlightenment, one must raise his/her energy to travel up the chakras, from the lowest being the Sacral, to the highest being the Crown.

For the Sacral chakra they feed you all of the sex entertainment via Miley Cyrus and Co., the lady in red, MTV, just sex, sex, sex, lustful sex. They wrote about it decades ago that if you sexualize the children at an early age they will be less likely to bond with anyone and create families. That's why they are going to be teaching your kindergardener's about sex and masturbation, use of condoms and STDs, homosexuality, etc.

For the Naval chakra they feed you the standard american or western diet, the fast food, pure sugars and fats, gmos, heavy metals and carcinogens contaminating all of the process foods. This leads to most of the cancer, heart disease and neurodegenerative diseases we see today, and so people in general can't even really think clearly and not many have the cognitive function to figure this all out. It's a chemical dumbing down of society. "Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible. Even if all are miserable, all will believe themselves happy, because the government will tell them that they are so." -Russell, Bertrand. The Impact of Science on Society. 1951.

For the Heart chakra they direct your emotions at unworthy causes like sports, lifestyles, money, and anything that can divide you and your family. They even wrote decades ago about how one of the main agendas is to break down the family because without anyone to stand up for you and take care of you, you are dependent and easily controlled.

For the Throat chakra they teach you lies through their manufactured history, culture, war, politics, economics and RELIGION.

For the Crown chakra, they also use media based mind control, MK Ultra, HAARP, etc.

One of their biggest fears is you winning the battle over each of these chakras, and ultimately, winning the battle for your soul. This is because when all of our chakras are aligned and enhanced correctly, a new chakra is born above the crown. Like 'The One' in The Matrix, you become one they cannot touch, one which culminates the free soul, and they know that one free soul gains the ability to free others. One by one their system can begin, and has begun, to collapse. It all begins with a choice right here and right now, to remain an incomplete slave or to become a complete human.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

OK I have my own intepretation of chakra's. I've read a lot of the existing material on it but currently hold a slightly different understanding. So the following is just my own opinion and a work in progress;

There are 4 major chakras, 2 orbital chakras and one boundary chakra:

The lowest (fourth) major chakra is at the generative organ.
The third major chakra is at the leve of the 1st Lumbar vertebra.
The second major chakra is at the level of the 6th Thoracic vertebra.
The first major chakra is the proverbial third eye, around the center of the brain.
The second orbital chakra is in the throat.
Finally, the boundary chakra is a field which emanates from the perineum and manifests as the bodies skin. Some people say they can perceive colour fields called an aura.

The chakras represent the subconscious systems of time keeping (cycles) within the physical body. There are millions of minor ones, ranging in size downwards from the major’s through skeletal joints to the million synaptic cleft’s within networks of neuron’s, to gate’s in the membrane’s of cell walls. Our conscious mind generally focuses on the skeletal muscular system in this regard as our conscious minds interaction with the physical.

The boundary chakra is the outer organ of the body, the skin. The skin has its own cycle of activity and is considered a peripheral oscillator. It is commonly associated to a point of connection to the ‘Earth’. This is a misrepresentation of the skin’s role as a perimeter sensor for the subconscious between what is the outer and inner from a physiological perspective.

The fourth major chakra operates on the reproductive instincts for the cycle of procreation. This is considered a peripheral oscillator meaning its cycles are run independently from the master oscillator in the brain which we associate to circadian rhythm’s. We experience conscious connection to this as lust.

The third major chakra is the complex of liver, pancreas and spleen, and is considered a peripheral oscillator. This is consciously most often experienced as hunger and thirst. Energy is derived from this and it is the cauldron or furnace of 'Qi'.

The second major chakra is the thymus, heart and lungs. It is considered a peripheral oscillator. This area is integral to the feelings and sensations of empathy and security. It's commonly associated to concepts of love being of the heart.

The first major chakra, is not a peripheral oscillator, it is the ‘Master’ clock. It is located in the suprachiasmatic nucleus of the hypothalamus where it can control body temperature, hunger, attachment behaviors, thirst, fatigue, sleep, and circadian cycles. The circadian cycles are the most prominent presentations of the chakra.

The second orbital chakra is in the larynx, thyroid and the oesophagus which serve as a peripheral oscillator. This is an important measure of health and animation of the spirit by the brain to interact with the other peripheral oscillators.

The first orbital chakra represents the 4th dimension of future time. It is an illusory chakra, representing the energy of the conscious mind to its certain future awareness. Imagine the boundary kata as a field of energy surrounding the body, and the first orbital chakra is the edge of that which perceives the future becoming the present.

Just for a different perspective. :silly:

I'm mostly in the same boat as Steam, though I did do some reading on them outside of that. I do not personally believe they exist- I am one of those Reliah mentioned who thinks that when things like that work, it is only the placebo effect at work.

Which doesn't mean it's not worthwhile- the placebo effect can certainly be a decent treatment, sometimes.

I see what you did there.

I fibbed a bit; I did a few studies on them, and how they line up with other culture's views a long, long time ago, but I've forgotten everything I knew about the subject.

That said, in discussing the placebo effect and whether or not these power points exist on the human body, I will submit to you that if you go into one of those super-Charismatic Protestant churches (the kind with the healing and speaking in tongues, which I grew up in), you will find that the most common places for a minister to "lay on hands" are the crown of your head, the third eye, the back of the neck, the solar plexus, and the dan tien.

Even though these people will vehemently claim that no such energetic points (as conceived in Eastern religions) exist, and their mere study is the work of the devil, they'll still put their hands on the base of the neck (opposite the throat chakra) and the dan tien (near the sacral chakra) to hold you up while they bless you or heal you, and they still smear anointing oil on the third eye or palm the top of your head (the crown chakra) to pray for you.

They can claim all day that the chakras don't exist, that these energy patterns don't work, or even that they're evil--at the end of the day, many religions use the same 5-7 "points of power" in all their work. While the placebo effect is a good rationalization, these religions are too disparate, and have been "at war" for mankind's soul for too long to have shared this knowledge consciously among themselves. So why do they all use the same points?

I argue with myself over this.. Part of me believes the energy we direct helps open and align the chakras, while I struggle with the fact that in order for reiki to work belief or faith is needed in the helper and the helped.
Mind over matter or the energy?

Perhaps it is that we direct the energy through our belief, and those we help accept it with theirs?
