What do you guys think of a projects section being added to the forum? This way people can collaborate in one location to help achieve a goal.

Have you got any particular sorts of projects in mind?

There was mostly-serious talk yesterday about the creation of a "Recipes" sub-forum, and I've spent most of my morning collaborating with other crafty and artsy TotJO members on things, and there are a boatload of crafty folk here.
So, really, I think some kind of forum/subforum/subsubforum/etc. devoted to crafty bits (and it could have a leetle sub-thingy for cooperative projects) could be super handy, even if there aren't any project ideas looming currently.

Well the thing is forums are created when there is a need for them.
If a large number of threads are created that justify having a forum then sure one can be made. But if it is just one or two every once in a while creating a whole sub-forum hardly seems worth it really...

Except that
a) if it's only once in a while, those once-in-a-whiles (when added together) will still make quite an impressive archive,
b) having a forum in which to post things will prompt the posting of things into that forum; that is, if there were a Project forum, people would post more projects in it than they would if there weren't a project forum.
It could even just be subdivisions of the " Jedi Art " subforum in Miscellaneous, if necessary (which is where I'd suggest we put current projects, until/unless there is a dedicated subforum created).

Well Ive read a few people doing projects such as that music collaboration and the jedi quarterly, as well as the multiple theoretical real temple plans.
I feel like without a projects page, projects kind of fade to dust through time.
I do have a project but am still in the process of formulating it.

I'm going to get on my knees and beg for a projects section <gets on his knees>.
Here's why we need one.
Let's say I come up with an awesome idea like making a program for the website that allows the IP to be tracked and with each exercise someone completes, their badge begins to grow the dark green band out from the center (totally awesome right?). Problem is we have no one that can program that well or the computer programmers of the temple are really busy with other things in life. Well off this idea goes to get buried in the general forums never to be found again.
But, let's say we have a projects folder and maybe a month from now we get a new temple member who is a website designer and he's really proactive and wants to help the temple. He scrolls through the project folder and sees my idea and makes it happen.
Or someone who was too busy to help with that project suddenly find himself with a lot of extra time ,so he scrolls through the project folder and sees several things he has the skills to make happen.
Please please please do this, I promise it will be the best thing you've ever done.
