My sister and I talk rubbish, introduce you to some weird English words we use, and mostly just laugh inanely at our own stupidity
Just one thing to say - I hope no-one takes my sister's comment about the word starting with B the wrong way, and if anyone does find it at all offensive, I apologise. I can 100% guarantee it wasn't meant in a derogatory manner.
when I first saw this I literally said "this is getting out of hand, now there are two of them" lol
With only my basic understanding of Hebrew, and some internet searches, I got the following.
Jedi, obviously isn't Hebrew, the same as Jesus and Joshua, and Judas, they're English variants of the Hebrew language.
Jedidiah (Yedidya) means "Beloved of God"
So on that Jedi only means "Beloved of God" if it's used as a short name for Jedidiah.
The word Jedi (Yadaee or Yedaai Yeddaey) would be "yeda" for knowledge
When Yeda is stuck with ee or ai or ey it denotes what would be "man of knowledge"
I'm not exactly sure why the ee/ai/ey turns it into that, since "adam" is man, and it would seem like "yedadama" should be "man of knowledge", but that's the way it is.. :D
I live in the Phoenix East Valley area and this has been a nutty 5 years with this whole thing. It's a tragedy (for Travis and his family)and disgusting act of behavior of Jodi's. This is not going to end well for anyone in this case....
Even though it's past now, I wanted to bump this for new and possible future members to read about a commitment one has made of being Jedi and it's not just a flash in the pan type thing... I hope this enlightens others to keep studying each day to be a better Jedi as well as a better person....
My mothers second husband was Russian orthodox and my mother and I had to go through the rituals to be members of the church before they were even married. The SF bay area of California has several Orthodox Churches for Russians, but is not a largely populated religion that I know of any more, Greek seems to be the largest.
That is a wonderful story. My bliss would be the little moments where I feel completely at one with a given situation, especially when I feel at one with nature. When the realization really hits me of how large everything and how small I am compared to it, but that I am still a very important part of it. I live very close to the Erie Canal in New York state and I can go there often to experience this. I find myself quite lucky in this regard. Just yesterday I stood on the main bridge in my hometown of Brockport and stared out at the Erie Canal for over forty five minutes. This was my bliss. I was completely at peace. It was slightly rainy, I was wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt and was extremely comfortable and everything just fit into place perfectly. Simply thinking about puts me in a peaceful frame of mind, and for that I thank you. :)
May the Force be with you,
I apologize for my personal issues causing some drama here. I had no intentions of that.
You are not the cause of anything untoward...
I also did not mean to make TOTJO seem like it wasn't my "real-life". I take this seriously as it is a very important thing in my life right now and I most definitely don't think of it as role-playing. I simply couldn't find the correct phrasing for what I would really like to say. As Alex said it is a feeling, and feelings lose meaning when you try and put words to them.
That is not how you have been coming across :) - at least to me :)
I've met over half a dozen people from TotJO... it can happen and one day it will for you as well! :)
I think TOTJO is trying to expand beyond jediism? like in the sense that jediism is the philosophy right? but who are the people behind it?? So my guess is, this "social media bs" is doing exactly that
If we don't use this then we get accused of just being 'arm-chair Jedi' - people just pretending to be Jedi and hiding behind a screen. This new site, more than ever before, shows that we are just people like every other person...
As for extremist Jedi... I know of some extremist Jedi and they typically don't do very well on our site so don't stay around or post much...
I believe that I will be reincarnated many times over. I do not necessarily mean that everything that I am will come back in a single being. I mean that my life energy will be released at the moment of my death, and it will become part of the energy that surrounds us. I will become part of everything because my life energy will add to the energy of creation. Through this, I will be reincarnated in many forms because my energy will help birth new beings. I plan to make sure I am directly reincarnated as a tree in addition to the many other beings that I will be reincarnated as at the same time. My death will bring about new life. It is all part of a cycle. For life, there must be death.
