And Yes Hannigan, we get it. You are being sardonic.
As mentioned the FA isn't closing down. It is a minor technical issue. The Forums are untouched. You can stop celebrating. The FA is just fine.

Meh. I thought it was hilarious
We laughed about it in FA chat for hours. Quite amusing. As Opie says, easy fix Xhaiden even gave them another easy option instead of uploading an entire back up file. *shrugs* it happens. Save save save save. You can never save and back up to much. In the meantime. Learn to smile and giggle a little

it's not backups they should worry about. It's how the guys got in in the first place.

*smiles* Actually we did discover the problem. They got in through the chat program. We were using FlashChat, so I -think- ToTJO's program should be fine. Our Admin is looking for a new program as a result of this and other issues we were experiencing with FlashChat.

This is what it means to be part of a COMMUNITY. That we share and acknowledge the events and happenings across said Community so as to learn and grow from one another. It is important to know if they are targeted attacks. How the hacks happened. In this proper action can be taken for all Jedi sites in Our Community.
Both the FA and JAO had the same chat program. FlashChat. This is what was used to access and hack the site. If that chat program was used here - would you not want that information to be known? Wouldn't the Administrators? So that they could take the steps necessary to prevent a similar event here?
Any other Jedi Administrators (as many Jedi venture to TotJO) here now have that information. They know to avoid FlashChat as a Chat Room resource. That it presents a security issue. So if one runs their own little training site - perhaps for Apprentices - they know to avoid that software.
When you look at the Jedi as a whole - rather than tribal sites - the answer to your question is clear. Because it could potentially effect us all. And we should look out for our fellow Jedi not condemn them because of website preference.

Because it is important to know what is happening around the Community. Why it is happening. In this precautions can be taken. To help sure that such events can be avoided or at least prepared for elsewhere in the community (such as here). As mentioned this happened at another Jedi site, not just the FA.The Old Doris wrote: Why is this causing so much attention here ?
