Jedi Movies? was created by
Hankering after some evening viewing, I was wondering if there are any movies/characters in movies you think especially Jedi, and why.

The Star Wars franchise is, I'm assuming, a given ;)

I think that there are a great many Jedi characters in the Harry Potter movies (and books, of course).

Harry himself is arguably the most obvious Jedi - never failing to put the protection and happiness of others above his own chance to have any kind of normal life - but I kind of see the whole Harry Potter series as Star Wars with wands instead of lightsabers. Once you look past the 'it's an entertaining story for children' aspect, many of the characters have much to teach us about different Jedi virtues.

Huh... have always avoided that one because I assumed (therein lies the mistake...) it was just vacuous trash.

I'm sure there are more I could think of, but those two are my favorites. :)

Frodo and Sam in Lord of the Rings. Frodo because of his compassion and Sam because of his dedication and loyalty.

Watching The Jungle Book with my son this afternoon, I was struck by some of the sentiments expressed by Baloo:

And don't spend your time looking around for something you want, that can't be found
(singing): When you find out you can live without it
And go along not thinking about it
And I'll tell you something true
The bare necessities of life will come to you.

...

And after putting himself in harm's way to aid Mowgli's escape, and getting knocked out:
[Mowgli comes to Baloo, who is lying without signs of life]
Mowgli: Baloo? Baloo, get up. Oh please, get up. Oh.
[Bagheera arrives]
Bagheera: Mowgli, try to understand.
Mowgli: Bagheera, what's the matter with him?
Bagheera: You've got to be brave, like Baloo was.
Mowgli: You don't mean -- oh, no, Baloo.
Bagheera: Now, now. I know how you feel. But you must remember, Mowgli, Greater love hath no one than he who lays down his life for his friend.
[Baloo opens his eyes]
When great deeds are remembered in this jungle one name will stand above all others. Our friend, Baloo the bear.
Baloo: He's cracking me up...
Bagheera: The memory of Baloo's sacrifice and bravery will forever be engraved on our saddened hearts.
Baloo: Beautiful.

Every time I see someone put the films before the books, I die a little inside.

Okay, maybe a bit dramatic :-p

How about Thomas Marshal, along with Baron William d'Aubigny and his men in Ironclad? They stood and fought against a larger, better equipped force, against a tyrannical king, in order to protect the rights and freedoms in Magna Carta (Yes, I know Magna Carta wasn't exactly universal)
Some sacrificed their lives, Thomas Marshal in particular much more- then at the end, when the battle was done, he laid down his sword (and got the girl!)
