1. Battlestar Galactica (the original), after Star Wars came out, I was hooked, but there was a long time before Empire Strikes Back. BG filled that void, and cemented my love of space!
2. MASH - my father would not let me watch it because he thought that they were trivializing war with humor. I had to sneak reruns when I could, and when I moved out, I watched them all, and found that, while it was called a comedy, it really was really a thought provoking series that dealt with war on a more human level. I admit that I cried like a baby throughout the last episode, and mostly when Hawkeye realized the chicken was really a baby. The way they dealt with PTSD in the last season was remarkable!
3. Firefly - Big Damn Heroes, enough said.
4. Band of Brothers - I own the boxed set and watch it regularly, to remember why we fight, and how to bring honor to the battlefield!
5. Star Trek The Next Generation - this version really tried to explore global issues on earth, but viewing them in an alien way. Another thought provoking series.
6. The Andy Griffith Show - I grew up on this, and Andy's "cop without a gun" way of law enforcement is what built the idea of why I wanted to be a cop (military police was as far as I got).
7. Happy Days - Another childhood mainstay, where the good guy always won in the end, and even the coolest guy wasn't a jerk.
8. Bonanza - My father reminded me so much of Ben Cartwright, and I grew up on the classic cowboy movies.
9. NYPD Blue - This was over the edge TV, and hard hitting issues. It really skirted right and wrong, and the fine line between the two.
10. Blue Bloods - my newest favorite show, with strong characters, and touch decisions to do the right thing.

There is passion, yet there is peace
Through passion I gain strength and knowledge
Through strength and knowledge I gain victory
Through victory I gain peace and harmony
Through peace and harmony my chains are broken
There is no death, there is the force and it shall free me
