If they start taking volunteers for who gets to be the first cyborg someday I totally call dibs.

But this really isn't about cyborgs.

Cool? Or Scary! One step closer to controlling people's minds.
"I didn't mean to shoot him officer!"
"But you did. Your hand was holding the gun, you could have chosen not to."
"But... it wasn't me! Mind-body control!"

It does bring up the question- even if other people can control to some extent our bodies now, will they be able to control our minds like that or will forcing a thought upon someone and making them think it was their own be forever impossible using machines? Time will tell.. Although this could be pretty cool with people with physical disabilities allowing them to control cyborgs perhaps and see people a world they wouldn't have otherwise. It also might just make other people pretty lazy, going to the shops? Nah, you do it, :p
Hmmm...

A problem is they don't really know how it works yet and has some crazy high number of synapses, in the hundreds of trillions. Apparently each persons brain is wired up in its own unique way. So while there are functional areas which are common across all healthy humans, to get any detailed interface each person would need their neural architecture mapped out - to some extent.

I guess these two guys mapped out their individual regions in each other's brains, for the specific movement, and then just applied the stimulus remotely from where they detected the signalling. You'd want to trust the person setting this up so moving a finger did not make the other guy slap himself or something!!!
