Current and former military Jedi

just noticed that we dont have a dedicated group for current and former military jedi, of any branch and or nation. can one be started? i would rather i not start it, as i am already the dude in the bustling alabama jedi group.

really, ryujin's comment in an earlier thread reminded me:

'...if you need to talk to other ex military members or others that have been through the dark, feel free to approach any of us...'

a lot of us have been through the dark. maybe are still going through it. and i have found (as have many others) that sharing this is beneficial to the healing process. having a group where we can easily do this would be useful. for example, the person ryujin was talking to may not know who any of the other military members are, except for ryu.

I do like the idea, but I really don't think council will approve it, at least, not now...

as noted in that thread, there are no hard rules or guidelines on group creation, as it is still a new-ish feature, and groups are still being created. i did like your idea to have groups created by rank (novice, initiate, apprentice, knight, etc), the apprentice guild was a nod in that direction.

i still think a group of current and former military members would be beneficial for a number of reasons.

I'm curious what benefits you have in mind. If nothing else we could start a Facebook page.

As a former US soldier I'm ashamed of my part in the Evil Empire. Perhaps it should be a support group :silly:
