Stand up to bullies

I wanted to share this small passage that I just heard while watching TV. It is from Martin Niemöller in "Persecution of Religion" and I feel it goes for all persecution and bullying.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Catholic.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

I have read this before, it's brilliant

If only I didn't have to decide on the best method...schoolyard heroics are much easier and less criminal when your underage...
