I heard someone say "I lost a whole day of my life because Storage Wars had a marathon on TV."

I started thinking about all the things that we do in our lives that we just can not get the time back from. So my question to you is this; What have you done in your life that you can honestly say you could never get back the time because you have done it? How have you changed your life to avoid this "wasted time"?

No, I can't say as I've "lost" any time. It's pretty big, you know.

One may choose to do things that perhaps are not the best choices, yet that being so, something motivates the choice. Sometimes it is obligation. Sometimes it is taste.

What is "Storage Wars" ?

Yet if I do make a bad choice, my tastes are disappointed or an opportunity to do something better missed, I haven't lost any time. There is no accountability possible. Do I think I have less left now than I had to start ? Where was the start ? At the beginning of a disappointment ? At the beginning of the week-end ? Last year ? At birth ?

If one really thinks about it, a disappointing event takes the same time as if one finds it rewarding, so doesn't the rewarding experience make one 'lose' the same amount of time ? Not counting the time one may spend complaining about it and letting it continue to ruin one's day, of course ...

Storage Wars is a television show. The people on the show bid for storage units that have not been paid for in a certain time frame. The storage unit then goes out to bid for anyone to buy. It's a "reality show". DUMB! ;)

Yes Alexandre, we all know that time is never a "waste" or "lost", but the premise is that, the thing you thought was going to be worth you time, turns out to be so bad that you wish you hadn't done it. There is no redeeming value or lesson that could be learned (other than...I just wasted a boatload of time!!!). ;)

Choices are made and once they leave the gun, the bullets cannot be recalled, but there are times you wish you could. So, other than the theoretical and philosophical relation of time wasted or not...You have done nothing that you wished you did not do?

Whether or not time is "wasted", I believe depends on one's chosen expectations and agenda. And even then, when one realizes they've spent time doing something they would not do again, they've just brought value to that time, giving that time the potential to be used as insight about one's self and the aspects of that used time for the benefit of learning and awareness.

We owe it to black to give value to white as we know it after all. ;)

I don't look at it as wasted or lost time, instead I see it as a learning experience....now if there was a learning experience I would probably like to take back it would be the mind numbingly dumb 30 minutes I spent attempting to understand the anime "sailor moon"...it's the only time in my life where I felt dumber afterwards than I was beforehand

It seems already, we all agree that, as ruggad was last to say, "there is only now", "it made me who I am now, why regret?"...

But as a mental exercise, I wonder about the day I......?

We may or may not have a spiritual excuse for understanding of the present moment.

But, I hope people do not use it as a denial tactic.

"Oh I've never lost a day... I'm always in the moment!"

I wish I had...

Even our regrets happen on the now. The past should not be used as an excuse. Your making that decision, taking that action now.
