Ren- thanks for clearly answering my questions, it was an interesting read. Although it does make me worry a little about humanity from the way in which you see things.. Do you see hope for women? or men or humanity? But I understand the way in which younger and younger 'women', realistically 'girls' are becoming more and more sexualised (not a word sorry) with their clothing, make-up and that does disturb me somewhat. I'm only 20 though, so I can only assume I'm noticing more now the difference between age feels more apparent, and that as my awareness of that increases, it'll feel to get worse...

RyuJin- it seems to me like the older men you speak of are more confident in their identity as 'men' which in turn got them to be less whiny and perhaps push themselves harder at least in terms of physicality.. maybe that mindset crossed over into over more academic subjects once upon a time i wonder? There's also been studies suggesting that if teachers believe certain students are more likely to succeed (whether or not they are more intelligent), they will. So let's go back to a time when men were supposed to be more intelligent than females. I wonder if because of this men had an identity (albeit not a particularly supporting equal rights identity), and were more driven to 'go further' and beat their female companions. Hmmmm... Dunno! But interesting to think about.

Akkarin- you wrote perhaps 'the demise of men' is partly due to equal rights with women and that perhaps society might be becoming fairer and stronger as a result. I'd agree it's become fairer (at least here in the western world), but as for stronger I'm not sure, something feels off to me about saying that. I feel as a society, we're still pretty divided and not accepting of one another. Perhaps sexuality and equal rights is no longer as much a matter of discrimination and weakness to society but much feels to me is missing somehow.. I don't believe the 'demise of men' is really due to equality with women but rather a lack of identity. (Man I feel I'm going on about this identity thing)

Question- Is identity important to feel you are/to be a man? Expansion, Is identity important to feel you are/ to be of any gender? How (if it is) is the identity you see with your gender important to you as your personal identity?

today's younger men are quick to grab weapons, often attack in groups, often lack any semblance of honor or respect, have little to no discipline, as children they are often spoiled and pampered...

I think you could watch "Back to the Future" or some movies like that to get an idea of what guys were like maybe 50-60 years ago. Some things that have changed are the laws regarding sexual harassment, assault, rape, etc. By the time the 90's rolled around you had to be careful about being accused of sexual harassment. You have to be careful about being accused of rape, domestic violence, etc when dating or in a relationship. You have to be careful about "knowingly spreading a disease". You have to be careful about everything really or else spend the rest of your life in a rape camp called jail.

In all honesty, a western woman would be my last choice for a companion. So yeah there is a demise of guys for western women because we're going elsewhere for companionship.

Whyte Horse, is your life any better by blaming all the problems of the world on someone else?

If you act respectfully towards women and pick them wisely (i.e. not just some randomer off the street) you aren't going to be in any danger of being accused of rape, domestic violence, or sexual harassment unless you are actually guilty of it in some way.

Yes, and my problems are all your fault

One of my former neighbors was accused (and found guilty) of all sorts of things relating to stalking/harassment after he decided to follow his then (stay at home while he was working all day) wife around to find out who she was sleeping with. Dude lost access to his kids and lost his house.

I think we should be worried. For me, it's not so much about sexualisation (though I wonder why girls seem to dress the way women should and women dress the way girls should), but about getting our priorities right. I mean, these guys are the future of our world. See how shallow they are and tell me you want your government and your pension to be placed into their hands....

You should try reading some women's magazines. They're scary.
