Hello everyone, It's a pleasure to be back in the community here. It has been a while since I posted so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong area for this content. I thought it would be nice to share some videos I've seen over the past few months that have really inspired me. I spent a lot of time just sitting here learning and I feel these two videos I'm going to share today might incite some good discussion and inspire some of you. I will warn you in advance though their is some mature language in these videos but the content is fantastic. It's definitely food for thought :D

Joe Rogan - What is Reality (This is a compilation of clips from Joe Rogan's podcast a viewer put together. A special thanks to the wonderful video editor who created the the amazing visuals in this clip. Just a side note if it seems a bit slow at first time it sometime it will definitely bring you in after a few minutes :D.)

Joe Rogan Podcast - Graham Handcock (Graham is a well known author most commonly known for his best seller "The Fingerprint of the Gods". Graham has done terrible work in the alternative history field and has brought forward some very compelling data with some of his great colleges. He unfortunately underwent an alleged smear campaign that severally ruined his reputation in the archeology community. He has since filed a complaint against the BBC and won his case. Since then the program depicting Graham's work has been re-edited in a more fair and respectful depiction of his work. Graham and his colleges have arguably found evidence of human civilization far beyond the current belief of a few thousand years and it is believed humanity might have a much older history then we currently are taught.)

I hope you enjoy these videos and share your thoughts. :D I loook forward to sharing more content with some of the other great teachers who have helped me grow. Great discussions hope you enjoy it too.

If you enjoy any of these videos feel free to check out Joe's podcast @ www.joerogan.net/podcasts!

Sincerely,
Rush.

Hmm, I like the first one. When I have time I will likely listen to the other two videos. I didn't have any idea that Joe was this deep of a thinker, and I like it. It is definitely quality food for thought. Something to get the synapses firing anyway. I just returned to the temple here as well, and this is a wonderful way to return, however vulgar and off-putting his word choice may be :) Good find.

He gets better with the swearing after the first 3 minutes, but I found it painful to listen to the first video because of it. I only watched the first one so can only comment on that. I'd say some segments of humanity is feeling more secure in its capacity to dislodge itself from interaction based models of reality, but at the end of the day seeing beauty in complexity still needs to be useful.

One step is recognizing one's limitations from the worldview learnt and entrained during childhood, with its all its potential cultural biases and habits etc (nurture), another step is understanding the evolved instincts and role of emotions (nature). It gives you an opportunity to redefine how you want to interact with the world, but choosing to disengage from that interaction needs to be managed (in my opinion) to ensure one does not get too lost in flights of fancy.

The brain is immensely interconnected which gives it huge processing power. There is great power in the mind; creative (actualized imagination), imaginative (theoretical creativity) and rational (predictive accuracy), but also the risk of irrationality - probably because the mind does seem to be seated in the physicality of a brain and body which can operate outside of conscious control. So if you can see beauty in complexity there might as well be infinite possibilities, but only a finite set seem to fall into usefulness.

Yeah Joe is a pretty deep thinker. I was quite surprised as well he has some phenomenal people on his podcast. His language is a bit colorful at times but the content he produces well worth it if you can bare it. He has some of the best guests on ranging from comedians, nutritionist, to archeologists, to Mixed Martial Artists, to even Quantum Physicists. :D The one thing I can say about Joe is he is authentic. He speaks from his heart and doesn't spin you any nonsense he is actually a very honest guy. Which is what I think most people enjoy about his podcast.

Indeed. It truly seems authentic which I think is what the appeal for the vulgar language is in this case, but regardless I will have to look more into these rants of his, perhaps there is a golden nugget lying in wait for me to find.
