I don't mind co-ed schooling but found girls a bit distracting at anything past about age 8, so perhaps uni-sex classes at a co-ed school might have been better. I think syllabus's are badly designed though, so homeschooling would give the option of doing a better job in that regard. PS I was public schooled.

Well I grew up with friends, peers, siblings, and went to public schools. They taught me how to be tortured, how to get beat up, how to use drugs, how to sell drugs, classism, sexism, racism, etc. Trust me, you think you missed a lot but you were actually spared, hehe.

Oh, I can't really complain too much. If I hadn't been starved for the knowledge I so craved, I likely wouldn't have ended up immersing myself quite as deeply once I *was* able to learn whatever I so wished, and I would not be who I am today. I still don't think the way I finally learned the truth was the best way to go about it though.

There's actually plenty of research that backs up what you're saying. Boys are much better off without girls.

So useful to understanding ideas. It exploded while I was asleep.

I am planning to teach full science and all religions. Its up to my children not me to decide... just what I think.

Don't forget to teach health/physical fitness....my nephew is home schooled and they left that out...now he's starting to look like a butterball turkey...and this was a kid that had sixpack abs at 6 years old...

I was public schooled, in florida(mostly)...when I lived up north I was the only one in my family that was able to adjust to match (they were 2 years ahead of florida) my brother and sister were held back because they couldn't. Then when we moved back to florida I was so far ahead that middle school and high school were a breeze...I literally did next to nothing and graduated with top grades...in college I did very little and still maintained a high gpa (made dean's list repeatedly, even getting a letter from some congressman congratulating me, and qualified for phi beta kappa)...while in college I met several homeschooled kids and they seemed very well adjusted of course they were still very young (one was 14, the other 16) it was then that I decided that if I have kids they were getting homeschooled...then of course there is also the safety issues...

In france sports class is compulsory, even in college (british meaning here, not university). The french baccalaureate includes a sports module. Doesn't count much, but counts nonetheless.

I've been more physically fit and done more sports out of school than I ever did during school... I hated P.E...

I agree with the fitness aspect. My little butterball turkey son is getting a home-made playground as soon as I figure out how to make a slide and he's going on walks every day. He got really obese staying in the house and it's difficult for adults to have enough energy to give kids the level of physical activity they need to keep fit.

For sure.

I accually thought this through. I thought a sports club or a couple. Make friends plus stop them looking like turkeys. If they are anything like me and my partner gymnastics and dance will be huge in our household.
I had good idea about health.... one year teach potions. Like what is best to drink before during and after sports to get everything you need... or what is best thing to eat if you have cold? Useful stuff that could be huge benefit and second nature.

What's do you thing the hardest part (finding science curriculum which is fun and not creationalist is definitely on list!!!)
