Dark energy and Force.

I just saw a documentary of Riddley Scott about George Lucas, "Prophets of Science Fiction".
In this movie, Michio Kaku, a physicist and theorist,draws a parallel between the dark energy and the Force. He'd noticed the definition of the Force by Ben Kenobi in "A new hope" was : It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together.
That exactly fits with the dark energy ! Maybe George was even below the truth since it appears dark energy binds galaxIES and even the universe together.
I strongly recommend this documentary if you haven't seen it yet.

That seems to be more looking at a situation and finding a connection. The Force never was intended to be 'dark energy' a parallel is simply being drawn between the two because their descriptions match.

The Force, as presented and intended by Lucas, is more closely related to the Eternal Tao, most especially in the original trilogy where its infrequent use added a sense of grandeur and mystery to it. It was beyond the normal realms of experience (even the fleet commanders scoffed at Vader) rather than something that was regularly understood by the scientific community let alone the populace at large...

I would also steer away from calling Lucas a 'prophet', because that just gives people the wrong impression (though I know that isn't what you meant yourself).

Herein, I do not believe that 'prophet' is used in the biblical or coranic sense, but just in precognising something that is later theorised or discovered. This in much the same way as Jules Verne forescribed the submarine, nuclear (?) power and spaceflight. Michio Kaku is much more of a celebrated physicist (City College of New York) than a spiritual pilgrim ...

When I was a kid all I had to do was pull something apart to work out how it operated, but these days the sizes are going through microscopic and heading towards nanoscale - might as well be magick!! Electricity and magnetism would seem like magickal/dark forces to most anyone a few hundred years ago, not to mention that miniturization of technology.

Dark energy and dark matter is just called that because they couldn't find it yet, so it will be interesting to see if science can discover some new latent natural powers. As long as they don't create a big blackhole in Switzerland or turn the Earth into a new star trying to find it. Otherwise the theories need to be redone if what we know is all we've actually got.

Michio Kaku is the bomb when it comes to getting people interested in physics.

Dark light we're always trying to define stuff when really it's all in our minds.

As if that somehow dismisses anything. Every creation man has ever brought into this world, good, bad, mundane, or monumental, mechanical, spiritual, biological, etc,etc started out in someones mind, there imagination.

We defined it, and brought it into the world.

Saying its all in our minds makes such things more powerful than you realize. To trivialize it shows more ignorance than wisdom.

I haven't dismissed or trivialized anything.

I was recently thinking the same thing, that dark matter and dark energy may well be the next source for understanding some phenemenon that as of yet are difficult to explain. The day may come when science can detect the presence of dark energy and dark matter.
