Questioning Schooling?

No. I wanted to increase the likelihood of getting a high paying job when I graduated.

I disagree. Everyone who goes to college to get a degree to get a job is setting themselves up for failure. In an ideal world this would work but in the world we live in, you get a job through your connections with your freemason buddies or church or daddy. It seldom has anything to do with being the most qualified. Right now, Bechtel and Microsoft have hundreds of job postings for new graduates with less than 1 month to fill the position... in reality these are just fake jobs posted to get clearance from immigration so they can hire cheap foreigners who just graduated and will work for peanuts to get their citizenship.

We were sold a bill of goods. Do well in school and you willl be alright, they said. Well, most of us did. But we are not alright. Not by a longshot. And it is very frustrating.

Btw, giving up is not an option, I have a family to feed. Nor am I lazy. I have worked hard my entire life to get here,with unspeakable hurdles in between. And I'm tired of this bs.

I agree. We're all being lied to. The good jobs are reserved for the people in the big club, and we're not in the big club.

I'm fortunate that I decided early on to go to school just to learn. I excelled at computers but I knew the university had nothing to offer me so I studied physics instead. I also studied electronics at college when in high school and learned programming on my own. My ultimate goal was to do robotics and I knew I needed the physics most to do that... Well here it is 10 years later and I learned what I needed, my IT job has been taken by slave labourers from India, nobody will hire someone with a 4 year physics degree but everyone agrees it's the most difficult degree, and I have turned to farming to survive and do robotics in my garage. Pretty sweet, eh?

Dude just start your own brewery. I started mine for under $400 and was pumping out 10 gallons/week in my crawl-space. Use 5 gallon glass carboys and 5 gallon soda kegs instead of bottles. You can do it! When you get some income from that, reinvest it into 50 gallon tanks. Hell, get a loan if you think you can repay it and start your own brewery, lol.

CO2 tank and regulator = $100
8 soda kegs at $10/ea = $80
4 glass carboys = $100
thermometers = $30
hydrometer = $30
hoses = $20
yeast and test test tubes = $40
total = $400

You can do it for less but at the time I was a heavy drinker and went through 5 gallons/week with my buddies. It paid for itself in about 6 months just by saving on the costs of beer. I eventually sold it for $350, lol. Some people use mason canning jars which 5 gallons = 20 quarts = 20 jars... and they fit nicely in the dish washer.

I know nothing about rice wine but it's probably a similar setup to wine making and costs less than beer
