yes, the donate button could use a bit more attention and usage...i've used it a few times in the past (before joining the ranks of the unemployed)...now that i'm working again it's simply a matter of time before i'll have things to where i can donate more than just time again...thanks for drawing attention to this wonderful aspect of totjo
everyone that teaches here, and works to keep it up and running does indeed donate a great amount of time and energy, we don't do it for profit, but for love of spreading knowledge and wisdom...but yes the bills have to be paid, and unfortunately br. john tends to foot most of the bill...feel free to use the donate button if you are able

I realise I could possibly be interpreted as having said that people shouldn't donate...
What I meant, really, was that people should be able to practice their religion without feeling under pressure to pay for that right...
But, TOTJO is by no means free to run and all donations are massively appreciated...

I remember Jestor complaining when I installed the yellow button.... He thought it was too obvious

We don't need to make the donate button more obvious for people to donate. Donateing is always optional whether you have lots of donateable money or not. Hopefully people will donate though

Come on now...
At least for April first we can have some kind of big flashy button!
Maybe a disclaismer (false disclaimer) stating how the more you donate the higher rank you can get! :woohoo:
Then, once the donation is accepted it will pop up...
April Fools!!!!
hahahhahahahhahhaha :woohoo:
I'm so funny... it kills me sometimes! :silly:

I don't want to bring this out of the light-hearted discussion here. But, I'm wondering something.
Many of us, myself included as a member of the TOTJedi church and also the Christian church, try to find parallels in (what I consider to be a denomination of the Christian church) between the institutions in order to make both better. In the Christian church, we tithe 10% of our yearly salary to the church. This is what Jesus said to do, and we do it because it helps keep the sanctuary of God running.
I imagine this is what "donations" is akin to. Of course, with no physical building, there is not as large an amount of money needed to fund this place.
There is something else that my church does. We collect offerings for charities and missions throughout the world. And, the church pastors decide each week what to college.
Have you ever considered endorsing certain humanitarian causes as a church? I understand that you might say: "Yes, each individual person can support as they wish..." But, sacrificing costs as a church is something that could be used as bonding experiences throughout the community. Just a thought.
