Not sure if this is in the right place. Please move if needs.

I was just nosying through the 2012 report and I was wondering about the fact that you've stated "we do not, and will never, charge for anything TOTJO" and you don't push the "donate now" message (shamefully I hadn't even noticed the button) despite the fact that there are obviously hosting costs etc. Not to mention the fact that everyone's using their personal resources to keep the place together, and I shudder to think what the volunteer hours are worth!

What was the reason for deciding against charging for membership to TOTJO and avoiding asking for contributions?

Probably to keep it open to as many people as possible. If they charged a membership, I (for example) couldn't be here. That said, the Donate button is no different than any other religious group asking for offerings, so it could probably use a bit of "HAY LOOK" now and then.

A Jedi's goal is not to make money... it is to help and we should be seen as doing that and not the former... It is easy to start slipping so lets not start :)

:) I know, but bills gots to be paid right?

I've worked in the Not for profit sector for the last 5 years and I may be using an 8 year old donated computer everyday, but the money to be able to turn it on has to come from somewhere.

Yes you're right it does get missed :(

There are still talks about subtely making people more aware, without making them feel obliged. That yearly report is good :)
