Define energy work ;) Just kidding. :laugh: I agree 100%. It's nothing special, just be open. Being open minded and receptive is a challange at times. Life/living distracts and there is a lot of static around us. You also have to believe. ;)

went from 6 to 9 reps on most movements today and some forcefull belly breathing. Feels like to much. Seems so little and gentle but wow!

I've toned down my range movement some. Nei Dan Qigong is more of an internal energy practice of growing and moving Qi around the body. My movements don't have to be so dynamic or expansive. I need to focus on my Qi moving through my body. Movement, smaller and smaller jestures, helps me focus where the Qi goes and eventually just my thoughts will move my Qi without muscle movement & tension. Very cool.

Without knowing it I've been doing "Small Circulation" and "Grand Circulation" for some time now. Not corretly as described in the book but now that I know the philosophy behind Qigong I can work toward refinement. I'm gratified my intuition has gotten me to this level and am encouraged to continue practice. After all how hard is it to commit 15-30 min of mild quiet movement.

I can see how this can be a tremendoust health benefit in old age! Simple mild movements with mental focus. How can that only be but good.

Small Circulation moves Qi up the front vessels of the body and down the back vessels. In Small Circulation there are three gates Qi has to pass through that might cause difficulties. The tailbone, middle of the back and the base of the skull. As this so happens these are the three places I have the most consistant pain. I believe from years of being a desk jockie and poor posture. Makes sense to me. My Qigong practice is focused on gently opening up these sore spots. It may take months or years to but again I see nothing but good working on this.

Grand Circulation moves Qi through the entire body. In my case moving Qi to my feet, hands and head as I do during meditation. Ultimatly Qi can be directed out of the body to heal or injure. My desire is too heal. This, if it is possible for me to do, is years away and is dependent on Small Circulation perfection. I do feel strong Qi in my hands though. Time will tell and again Qigong is feeling to be the right thing to do.

Qigong has been a very awaking experience and activity. After over a month I do feel the need to get back into some aerobic activity and resistence work. My physical exercise is going to be moderate with a greater mind body awareness.

This Qigong stuff is going well. I've got a routine for home and for work, if I don't do it before I leave for work. I can transition from one movement to another without thinking to much about what to do next. I do most of my movements with my eyes closed so I can focus better and it helps my balance. I am find it relaxing and helps me focus better at work.

I read up on circle walking meditation but have found I prefe to walk in a figure eight. I like the way that feels better. Has anyone tried walking meditation?

So far it seems I bought a book (Chi Power Plus, with no stated author) that only tries to get me to buy a course? Seems like hype and sales directed though there is usefull information in it.
