You never said whether he was your friend or always just a roommate, maybe if you could see him in a different why, I mean why is he always angry, defensive, is there any way you could help the situation, are you part of the problem? Sometimes when resentments build up and we live in the same room things can seem bigger than they are, emotions flare.
If not he could be a lesson in your life, learning to deal with difficult situations is a skill that you'll need all through life, sometimes letting things just be, not reacting, not talking to others, not being a part of the problem, (I tend to have to repeat this lesson LOL) Just accept that he is a part of your life experience and make every effort on your part to treat him as you wish he would treat you. Things could and do change.. :)

Oh this reminds me of this one time... at band camp...

But it also reminds me of tolerance... there are no "bad" people, everyone is good
