Caravaggio. I was lucky enough to see this in person (its MASSIVE) in the cathedral in Valletta last year. It may not look like much, but its extraordinary. Id always loved it, but its imposing and remarkable in life.

Part of the seduction of most religions is the idea that if you just say the right things and believe really hard, your salvation will be at hand.

With Jediism. No one is coming to save you. You have to get off your ass and do it yourself - Me

John William Waterhouse's "The Lady of Shalott" (1888) is the most beautiful painting I've ever seen. Like Brenna said about the Caravaggio painting, seeing this in person is an extraordinary experience. If you happen to be in London at some point, stop by the Tate Britain and check it out. The depth of detail and color is genuinely breathtaking, and it conveys an indescribable level of emotion.
