Ohh lovely.
You don't think there's a difference between trying something at a store vs. using it at home? Becuase, I would beg to differ.

Do you mean in general or specifically the singing bowl?

I made these from files I found on google.
I think you guys may find them useful for meditation (I do)
Here are some for you each an hour long 320kbps mp3s.
(ocean waves and Tibetan singing bowls)
(flowing stream and Tibetan singing bowls)

Both, I guess. In the example of a singing bowl when you try it at the store there's usually a person showing you how to use it and encouraging you to have fun. You don't have to worry about the volume and you are most likely in a shopping mood.
At home, you might be encouraged not to use it. It annoys the dog, annoys the cat, annoys the roommate, etc. Not that singing bowls are bad...it's just they're not always practical for meditation...well unless you're a homeowner who makes the rules. As a renter or someone living with others...well then you have to compromise.
But really my first post was not meant to start a discussion about stores and buying. I was trying to to be silly and share my own experience. (the store comment was sarcastic)

Really nice sounds maynoth, very meditative!
I'm just wondering, where did you get the gong type sounds (I believe that they're the singing bowls you were referring to)? I'd like to use some of those myself to make some meditative songs as well.

I can't remember now, I was googling Tibetan singing bowls and found an mp3 of them, same for the ocean and stream sounds.
