About membership application

Greetings to all!
I have been through the FAQ and don't find the answer to two of my main questions.
It's probably just me being slow and it might be somewhere in there, maybe not.
1. Does the application come with any fees? I'm not cheap, just a student who calculates every penny at the moment because he's financing himself with two jobs and any extra expenses have to be carefully calculated!
2. In what why do I legally bind myself?
I live in Germany and here it's technically not possible to be a member of two religions at the same time and since I'm still officially member of the Protestant church and this could lead to conflicts, fees for leaving the protestant church and further paperwork I would like to avoid at this point!
Thanks in advance for any replies and sorry if these are answered in the FAQ!

There are no fees, but I'm sure donations are appreciated. You're not bound in anyway other than which you bind yourself. By providing inaccurate information the temple is in no way bound to your affiliation.
At least this is how I understand it but I'm not even a member yet so hopefully someone with more knowledge can verify it.

I'll answer the question I know the answer to: there are no fees.
As for the second question, I would suggest reaching out to Adhara. She's in Germany and would probably be able to answer best.

Adhara will know more about the Germany issues but I tell you there is no application fee. Not everyone considers Jediism their religion. They follow it as a philosophy. You don't need to leave any current church to become a member here. If you submit an application, put CONFIDENTIAL in the First Name space before your name. When you post on the forum do not post your last name.

From what I could tell when I looked into this, Jediism isn't recognised with the legal status of a religion in Germany. There's nothing in doctrine here that conflicts with the Grundgesetz either, so I see no points of conflict... so it leaves you free to choose what you to about Kirchensteuer - I never participated in church life in Germany... But now you have raised the question it'd be good to have Adhara's input on this - I just thought out those answers on my own, and I'm no expert. I'll send her a PM to ask if she'll reply in thread as well as to you personally.

Hallo Heathenjedi,
