I want to compile a 'sermon' book.

Hi all, so I have an idea. I've had the idea for a while but am now wanting to put more action into it.
I love having physical copies of important TOTJO documents for me and I want to compile and print off a book of all the sermons that I can find on the website.

I would like to ask for permission from any knights or council members for me to do this. Also, I want to check if any authors would be against this? I completely understand if not!
This book would just be for me and I would only print one copy at my university.
I would need to compile it all into one document so if I do get the right permissions, and someone would like a copy I would be more than happy to post a link here for it!

Please let me know if there is anyone you think I should contact regarding this.

I love the idea. Such books have been compiled before and are under Totjo materials in our library. I'm not 100% sure who retains the right to sermons, but it would be my assumption that it would be the authors
What I think you'll run into is that some sermon writers are not here any longer and cannot grant consent. Historically our sermon books have encompassed only one year partly because of that.
Would you like me to bring this forward to the rest of Council?

If you like as well, I am more than happy to send a review copy (it might be a bit long) for the council to have a look over. Again, this would just be for personal use but if the council would like to have it for the library, I can make sure all dates and details are correct. I would most likely chapter them by the author, but if others think just dating them would be better, I can do that!

I am having a lot of fun compiling all of this but boy is it a big job! I have found a design for the book (e.g. size, headers, and footers) and have a really good process worked out for compiling these sermons. I am only on sermon 40 and I am already 118 pages in with 29,038 words!

I can't wait to have a physical copy of this, although I think I might need to make a few volumes haha

Quick update!

I have needed to split up the sermons by year. This 1st volume is from the most recent Sermon till the 1st of January 2017!
So technically 1 and a half years but the other volumes will most likely just be 1 year per volume.
I have ended this first volume with 57,233 words! That is crazy haha!
I also have a really good method of adding sermons now, which took a lot longer to figure out than I had hoped for but oh well.
I have just sent it off for printing at my University and I expect it to be finished by late next week. I am super excited to have it and grateful to you all for letting me have these wonderful insights.

I will most likely wait a little while to print the next one as I have quite a bit of reading to do.

Just a heads up while I am not a lawyer and thus nothing I say is legal advice I know enough of the law to say the following. To get a copyright case to stick in court you need to show that the act impacts the market value of the product. So while technically it might be copyright infringement to print peoples material without permission here its unlikely it would make it to court and even less likely that anyone would go after you for printing a copy for personal use of an item we submit for all members of the Temple to use and read.

However just to make you feel better:

Any member of this Temple is allowed to print, copy, or otherwise reproduce for personal use a copy of any written, video, audio or drawn material that I submit to the site. I retain the all other rights to the material and its use for sale or monetary gain.

Big news!
The book is completed!
Well, the first volume of our most recent Sermon "We Need Jedi" to the first one of 2017.
I picked it up from my university campus yesterday and am so excited to have it. I can post pictures of what it looks like but it looks like a book haha!
If anyone would like to have a copy please let me know. I have not altered any sermon in any way and have completely copied them from their original format except for the font. If there are any issues regarding my printing of this copy, I want to make sure that everyone knows this is purely for personal use as I just like to have certain TOTJO documents in one place. However, if anyone is reading this and has issues with my printing of it, please let me know.

Nakis, unfortunately I am leaving for overseas in a few days and will be away until the end of July so I can't print anything until I get back. I would recommend looking in your area for "one off book prints".
