Things that just bug the bejeezus out of you for some reason or no real reason at all. Share them here!

Thought this could be kind of fun plus a place to sort of vent frustrations (in the same vein as the "Rants Far and Wide" thread). It could even be a funny way to get to know each other better.

(Note: I'm putting this here because this is the sub-forum where the Rants thread is and I figured this is on the same wavelength.)

I'll start. I get really annoyed by certain nicknames that random strangers throw at me. I get these a lot at work. Things like "boss" or "big guy" and similar. I don't know why, but they drive me nuts, it's like nails on a chalkboard for me. It just makes me cringe involuntarily.

People who put the milk in before the tea.

It's just all kinds of wrong.

Good choices you two.

Also, I just thought of this, but should we set this up like the rant thread and do "no responding to others' pet peeves"? Or should we allow it to be a discussion/commiseration?

Also also, how the heck can someone put milk in before the tea (or coffee)?

Passive aggressiveness, even though I realise that to say that is a little passive aggressive!

YES! This one just skyrocketed to the top of my list thanks to another supervisor I work with.

Seriously, If you don't know how to use chop sticks they give you a fork, use that or ask for help, someone still has to clean the table after you finish.

I tried using a fork for my soup and it still didn't work. :P

My pet peeve is something doing the Come Here gesture with their finger while all the way across the room; quite often it involves yelling, Hey, hey you, come here. At least come closer and ask then ask to speak with me.

I'll figure out the soup for you in time.........
The finger gestures also piss me off beyond belief at work.

Fun fact, this is a tradition spanning back to WW2, where milk was in rare supply and was often found to have gone bad. So rather than waste tea (which was also in scarce supply) they would pour the milk first and smell it to see if it had spoiled, rather than pour it into their tea and waste a perfectly good cuppa. Yet another useless bit of habit we've carried since WW2, like thinking carrots help with eyesight and daylight savings time. ;P

OH! Wait, this a a Pet Peeves thing eh? ummm... When people swear every second word. XD Yes, of the myriad of words you could choose to be an adverb or adjective, the f word can be used for both... but it really doesn't NEED to be. ;P

Oh! I got one!!

How many times do I have to tell you that if you're walking in front of me and trying to have a conversation with me, I literally cannot understand a word you're saying?

#earlyonsethearinglost #notfromloudmusic

Nevermind the fact that it's just rude. Walk next to the person you're talking with... Not in front of or behind them.

When people say "anxious" when they mean "eager". Anxious = you have anxiety about something, generally not good and comes with a feeling of unease. Eager = you are looking forward to something good happening or you want to do something very much. You should not be "anxious" to go to Disneyland or "eager" to get punched in the face. #EnglishTeachersChild

Preach it! Or when people snap their fingers at me.

Although I don't mind it as much when there is a collective rhythm or song that starts the people snapping. ;) Just don't use it as an attention getter.
